Pro-Life Reaction to Federal Democrats’ Plan to Codify Roe v. Wade

This is from the 1st Way Life Center:

January 22, 2021 marked the 48th anniversary of Roe versus Wade and the re-affirmation of a “throwaway culture.”

Since 1973 over 56 million precious lives have been lost due to abortion.

Over the last four years we had a president that fought for the unborn.

The prior administration called for the defunding of Planned Parenthood and late term abortions and ordered the protection of abortion survivors.

As supporters of the pro-life ministry, we are grateful for these actions for our country.

Unfortunately, we are now faced with conflict and adversity once again.

On January 22, the Biden Administration made the announcement in a press statement that “the Biden-Harris Administration is committed to codifying Roe versus Wade and appointing judges that respect foundational precedents like Roe.”

This means that abortions would remain legal even in the event the US Supreme Court overturns Roe versus Wade.

Not only that, but the current administration and some in our state legislature are committed to attacking pro-life pregnancy centers like ours.

We need to remain strong in our moral convictions and our mission.

We are in for a time of uncertainty and turmoil for the next four years at the very least, and we pray for your continued support of our center and the pro-life movement.

Illinois Democrats have already enacted such legislation.

I am surprised at the emphasis on Roe v. Wade.

Doe v. Bolton is the companion decision that I think is more damaging.

It is the decision that contains the health of the mother language which has been interpreted to include mental health (think the day before birth and the anxiety some women might have at being a mother).
