Another Way of Looking at Township GOP Primary Election Turnout

McHenry County Blog looked at raw turnout figures for the Algonquin, Grafton and Nunda Township Republican Party Primary Elections:

2021 GOP Primary Election Turnout

A Friend of McHenry County Blog dug deeper and offers the following:

For the 2016 Primary, McHenry County reported 205,178 active Registered voters.

For the 2020 General Election, 237,640 active voters were reported as being registered.

The Federal government with the assistance of the Supreme Court has made it very cumbersome to remove people from the voter rolls.

As a consequence, voter turnout is greatly deflated.

So, I decided to take the list of voters as of 01/05/2021 and look at only Republican voters who actually vote.

Algonquin Township turnout based on only voters known to vote Republican:  4.4 %.

Algonquin Township turnout based on only voters known to vote Republican AND voted at least in one primary since 2016 or the 2020 General Election:  5.14 %.

Grafton Township turnout based on only voters known to vote Republican:  8.16 %

Grafton Township turnout based on only voters known to vote Republican AND voted at least in one primary since 2016 or the 2020 General Election:  9.38 %.

Nunda Township turnout based on only voters known to vote Republican:  20.68 %.

Nunda Township turnout based on only voters known to vote Republican AND voted at least in one primary since 2016 or the 2020 General Election:  24.03%.

Still pathetic.

  1. What do you expect when you have the election on the 4th Tuesday of February in odd number years once every four years right after the Presidential elections?

Who even knew there was an election going on?

It would be interesting to see how many of the people who managed to show up and vote lived on township roads.

Those are usually the only people with a stake in the game and they are really only coming in to vote for Road Commissioner with the other offices being an afterthought.

Who cares who the township Supervisor, Clerk and Board Members are?

  2. Republican township central committees in these townships that opted for a TOTALLY UNNECESSARY primary should reimburse the county for WASTING taxpayer money on this SCAM.

    1 percent turnout?

    What a joke!

  3. They just don’t get it tax payers want you OUT to SAVE THEM $ NOT BE A $ SUCK TO US…

    GEEZUS …

how much louder does the message have to get!!!

    DISSOLVE…

  4. Townships are a total drag.

Why do illegal aliens get emergency assistance in Nunda Township?
