Here is the comment that Marengo Democratic Party State Central Committeeman made on Capitol Fax:
I was elected to the Democratic State Central in 2018.
I have attended every Democratic State Central Committee Meeting and function in both Springfield and in Chicago since then.
I have also attended
- JB’s inauguration;
- the last two Democratic Chair Brunches;
- the after election open houses and socials in Springfield.
Yet in those two years, I have never met Michelle Harris.
The first time I heard her name was when the Democratic Party Chair candidates were first announced and I had no idea who she was.
From Michelle Harris’s “My Vision for the Future of the Democratic Party of Illinois”
In that spirit, I wanted to present my ideas about how to do just that.
This is not an exhaustive list – I will continue to add to it as I have conversations with each of you and Democrats across the state.
But it does reflect ideas and input I have heard from Democrats across Illinois over my years serving on the State Central Committee, and in conversations with many SCC members this week.
I hope it will give you a sense of the leadership I would bring as Chairwoman of the Democratic Party.
I am happy to have further conversations with any and all of you about each of these ideas.
To Michelle Harris,
“Where were you two years ago when I was first elected and ever since then?”
Call me just a wee bit skeptical on this vision.
