The Washington Post breaks story allies of Congressman Adam Kinzinger forming a super PAC based on “Country First”

From the Catalina for Congress Campaign from early Sunday evening:

================

The new super PAC announced in The Washington Post called “Americans Keeping Country First” has yet to file any paperwork with the Federal Election Commission (FEC). The filing likely to take place this coming week.

Unlike a PAC, a super PAC contributes support or opposition to a congressional candidate through Independent Expenditures (IE) with no collusion and minimal coordination.

An IE can usually either be a media/TV ad buy, digital marketing, direct mail or other direct advertising, including text messages, and only the super PAC knows the content/messaging of their IE.

Chicago Sun-Times coverage from D.C. Bureau Chief Lynn Sweet of Sunday’s events published Sunday night can be read here.

  1. Donald J. Trump – The man Kinzstinker so desperately wishes he was, but will never be.

  2. Time for the Republican Party to rid themselves of the BAIT & SWITCH Politicians . . .

Kinzinger is The Reason For The Season of NO MORE PC, BS.

  3. That picture of Kinzinger is so ‘gay’.

Is he crying because his butt hurts?

  4. John, do you have any guesses about the election timeline?

I heard it would be around September that we’d get the maps.

Do you think that’s a good guess?

Do you have a guess or a range?

(Anybody else who is well informed can jump in on this one too.)

I’m trying to picture when the petition circulation period will be. If I’m not mistaken, isn’t it usually like August until November?

If we push the primary back, that will push back the circulation period, right?

    It should.

Plus it would be silly to be passing petitions before we have the maps.

Maybe we’ll have the maps earlier than September though.

Then there’s the issue of when the primary will be.

It’s usually in March but I heard it might get pushed back, possibly until the summer.

Well that’s still a big range.

We could be talking about April or August.

I’m just trying picture this election timeline.

I heard something about the circulation period possibly being during the coldest months like December-February.

    That would be awful!

Northern Illinois is not hospitable during that time.

    Really, none of Illinois is.

And then I’m trying to picture how third parties would factor in since they have their own 90 day window for circulating which comes after the primary but before the general election.

I don’t know how that could fit into the timeline if the primary is in summer…

Early voting for the general election may be underway by late September.

Ballots have to be approved way before November.

Any developments about the 2022 election timeline including important dates would be greatly appreciated and could make for future articles.

  5. You’ll be like Sleeping Beauty Ms T. Figure 20 more years of slumber.
