Epoch Times is reporting that the new U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg may propose taking vehicles by the mile to finance new roads.
The alternative is being considered in order to have electric vehicles help pay for infrastructure.
What the article does not point out is that would require connecting every car and truck electronically to a government tracking system.
Already those who use tollways are identified every time their vehicles pass tollbooths.
With the proposed new tax, one would never be off the government tracking grid.
