Federal Coronavirus Subsidies for McHenry County School Districts – Links to Other Districts — 6 Comments

  1. The State was allocated a total of $2.251 billion, with the school districts getting 90% of that or $2.026 billion.

I don’t know where the other $225 million went.

For comparison purposes, Chicago received $796.4 million or about $2,300/student.

Cary received less than $400/student and many McHenry County districts received less than that.

  2. There was a column for Title 1 which I did not include.

    Didn’t know what it meant.

  3. I feel sorry for any district that has expiring contracts.

The unions will demand and probably get most of that money, and the districts will have to come up with a like amount of extra cash every year.

Any time you give extra money to a unit of government, it becomes the new minimum amount that it can get by on.

  4. The Fed is evil. It is all a complete sham. The rug will be pulled out shortly.

  5. Did teachers in school districts in McHenry County incur less hours teaching in year 2020 vs 2019 because of the Chinese Virus Covid? If so, to what extent? Did they incur 90, 80, 70,…..10 percent less hours teaching in 2020 than in 2019? If so, then their salaries should be adjusted accordingly and we homeowners need to get an adjustment on our real estate tax bill which will be issued in about one month. In previous years, approximately 70 percent of our tax bill was for school districts.
