Long-Time Hartland Township Road Commissioner Mike Murray Loses Re-Election Bid by Nine Votes

I can’t remember when Mike Murray was not Hartland Township Road Commissioner.

Murray was first appointed in 1987 to fulfill the unexpired term of a young man named Steadman and served in the office since then.

He has been challenged before but emerged victorious.

This time Robert Gavers edged Murphy out by nine votes 81-72), at the end of election night.

The Democratic Party endorsed Gavers.

  1. Their endorsement didn’t net him any votes and probably cost him two.

He won because his name is Gavers and there’s a barn dance or something like that… you know the thing.

  2. Gavers are Democrats?

    Good to know.

I won’t be going to any barn dance they hold.

I always had a suspicion that that cancer foundation was to employ their son anyway.

  3. Just another pig at the township trough who forced out out a feebler pig who fattened too much at that trough.

  4. Gavers is a paving company in Woodstock.

Wonder how that will play out?

Gavers are opportunist just like Jack Franks.

I think one of them is on the zoning board for Woodstock.

Gavers is a big supporter of Brian Sager!
