Eleven Fire Departments Converge to Fight Townhouse Blaze

From The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District:

2612 Williamsburg Drive, Algonquin Residential Structure Fire

On Wednesday night, April 6, 2021 at approximately 11:00 pm the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 2612 Williamsburg Drive in Algonquin.

First arriving fire crews arrived on the scene within 4 minutes and found a multi-unit townhome complex, with heavy fire conditions coming from the front of the home.

The fire was upgraded to a MABAS Box Alarm for additional units to battle the fire. Crews initiated an aggressive offensive attack from the outside before making entry into the unit.

The main body of the fire was under control in 10 minutes.

All occupants of the multi-unit structure had evacuated their homes prior to the arrival of fire units.

Three families were displaced from their homes due to the fire and smoke damage.

No firefighters or civilians were injured.  

The Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was aided by the Algonquin Police Department, Cary Fire Protection District, Huntley Fire Protection District, Crystal Lake Fire Department, Carpentersville Fire Department, SEECOM Dispatch Center, Barrington Fire Department, Fox River Grove Fire Protection District, McHenry Township Fire Protection District, Rutland-Dundee Fire Protection District, Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District and West Dundee Fire Department. 

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.   A damage estimate is not yet available.

  1. There has been a spate of residential fires lately, it this the beginning of the end where people are losing their homes to a fed driven economy and high inflation??

    Or are there more troubled appliances from China than normal??
