To put that in perspective, the name of the officer who fatally shot Daunte Wright in Minnesota was released just days after the shooting.
That leads me to wonder why the Feds refuse to reveal who shot Ashli Babbitt, the female Trump supporter in the U.S. Capitol more than three months ago.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in the District of Columbia has announced there will be no criminal prosecution.
So, what’s the reason for the secrecy?
Today I received the following email:

“GOP House Whip Steve Scalise suffered bullet wounds and nearly died on the spot as a result of Bailey’s negligence in protecting him — which was his only job that day as Scalise’s personal bodyguard.
“Bailey was awarded both the Medal of Valor AND the Badge of Bravery for this great achievement.”

Babbit, who was a trained military person, breached an area where Members of Congress were trapped in the upper gallery.
What else was he supposed to do?

FWIW, The Capitol Police issued a statement in February denying that the shooter was David Bailey.

AFAIK, they have not yet shared any additional information.
I generally view statements from law enforcement or any other government agency with a great deal of skepticism.
Perhaps because of fears of retaliation by right wing nutjobs ?
What sort of lunacy would lead to the statement including “…a trained military person… What else was he supposed to do?”
First of all there is no way any bodyguard in the heat of a volatile moment is checking resumes to determine the training and background of an aggressor.
Just a silly attempt to create the illusion an unarmed female Air Force Veteran in a short sleeved t shirt with no none zero weapons was a threat rising to the necessity for deadly force.
This is just one more example of an untrained idiot with a badge and a great deal of fear in his heart being placed in a situation where he cannot control himself or the situation.
This is why there are lunatics calling for defunding police.
One more example where lack of psych profiling and lack of training leads to the death of an American Citizen with zero consequences for the murderer.

First of all about Babbitt, it was a tragedy but a lawful shoot none-the-less.

The attorney representing the family of Babbitt can file a civil lawsuit for her killing and the name will then be known unless a crooked Judge puts it under seal?

Have to ask about gross incompetence of parents, maybe child endangerment, who would allow a child just over 12 years old to be outside the home after dark without supervision of a reliable and lawful adult. Maybe parents, dual or single where the father has disapeared, should be charged with something along the lines of child endangerment when their young children are out on the streets at night committing crimes.
You still seem genuinely curious about there being a double standard.

Actually important questions that the regional or national media won’t ask:
1. Was Adam Toledo a Latin King? (Probably. His family are all LKs.)
2. Were his street names “Bvby Diablo” and “Lil’ Homicide”? (Yes, at least that’s what his homies are calling him on social media in memoriam.)
3. Even though he didn’t have a gun at the exact moment the cop shot him, how recently did he have possession of a gun?
4. Would he be alive today if he put his hands up as soon as the cop pulled up rather than seeing if he could outrun the cop?
5. Which constitutional amendment is it again that says “No young man of color shall be arrested unless he damn well wants to be arrested.”? It has to be enshrined somewhere in the constitution considering how Black Lives Matter assumes it’s an inalienable, God-given right.
A better question might be who is responsible for a 13 year-old out at 2:30 AM with a gun in his hand?
THAT is the person who should be charged.
Police officers are the good guys and women protecting the interests of law abiding citizens and society at large and must have the absolute right to protect their own lives no matter the physical makeup, race, gender or age of someone with a gun.
It is apparent that many in the Democrat Party, and their shills in the mostly left wing media, want to destroy our Nation. There are moronic and imbecilic members of the Democrats who over the last year called for defunding of police departments. Recently, same moron Democrats are calling for elimination of police or denying police the possession of handguns.

Just today in Texas, a police officer pulled over a vehicle and started talking to the driver. Suddenly, either the driver or one of two passengers pulled a gun and shot at the officer hitting him and wounding in the hand. The officer quickly retreated and returned fire killing two in the vehicle and injuring one.
