Democrats’ Effort to Kill ICE Jail Contract Fails 6-2 in Law and Government Committee

Posters supporting cancelation of ICE contract.

The McHenry County Law and Government Committee met this morning.

Argument was made that the ICE contract was a moral, not a financial issue.

One item on the agenda was to cancel the County’s contract with ICE to house illegal aliens in the McHenry County Jail.

District 5 County Board member Carlos Acosta said the contract brings in only $1.5 million.

Later in the meeting Acosta admitted that if the McHenry County facility is closed the detainees may be transferred to a places that “aren’t as nice as ours.”

“Terminating this contract does nothing but have us stand up and say we don’t like this,” Pam Althoff commented.

Pam Althoff speaking.

“Why would I harm those individuals by sending them to worse facilities?

“…I don’t think there is any place better.”

“…Most of us don’t feel there is a positive ultimate to McHenry County terminating the contract.”

Sheriff Bill Prim reported that currently there are no Covid cases in the jail.

He added that $117 million have flowed into county coffers from the contract with ICE.

And, that number does not include the Federally-financed build out of the ICE floor of the jail.

  1. Too bad so sad!

Now let them out and send them back where they came from if they think this is worse!

  2. Carlos Acosta?

Dude, you got a lot of nerve, what is this a play so if you get convicted and have to do Time, you can tell your cellmates “I was down for the cause”?

Carlos “have you no Shame Sir”?

  3. “Later in the meeting Acosta admitted that if the McHenry County facility is closed the detainees may be transferred to a places that “aren’t as nice as ours.””

Isn’t that the same rational for not moving AJ.

  4. How much more bullshit can a civilized society take throw these bastards back where they belong.

Our society has been too nice for too long to these wetbacks, ragheads, and degenerate members of black lives matter.

  5. Line em up.

    Then mow em down.

    Then have a cool beer.

I could do that 12 hrs a day, 365 days a year, and not shed a single tear.

I’d be thinking about all the Americans I saved from these rats.

  6. That picture in the paper was pathetic.

There were only 11 people, at least two of them were county board members, and almost all of them were old and white.

How many of them belong to that Jim “rainbow” Jones cult in McHenry?

I bet almost all of them.

  7. Not moral?

    Who said that, Acosta?

He’s a real expert on morality all right.

He needs to take a 15,000 foot drop out of private plane.

  8. What about the misery that these illegal criminals cause when they’re not even supposed to be here!

These DO-GOODER wannabes are either stupid, ignorant, complicit in the crimes or just need attention.

Look at me, I’m rallying for rights of criminal aliens blah blah..

  9. These cancel people need to be put in pillories and have fist sized items thrown at them for a 24 hour period.

I’d bring a large barrel of sharp steel shards.

Then go home and get another barrel full.
