Friday the tax extensions for assessment years 2018, 2019 and 2020 were compared.
The analysis by a Friend of McHenry County Blog found that every Grade School District is asking for as much month this year (2020 assessment year) as is allowed by law.
Elementary School Districts are asking for 2.48% more money this year than last year.
High School Districts into which these Grade Schools feed students provided some relief but only if one lives in the Marengo-Union or Richmond-Spring Grove areas.
There was a net reduction in taxes extended of 1.17%.
Here are the results for each of the High School Districts in McHenry County:
Crystal Lake and McHenry High School Districts are requesting more.
McHenry probably because of the bond issue passed by voters.
I’m guessing Marengo is down by so much because the bond issue to build the new high school has been paid off.
