Six Years for Chicago Drug Dealer Whose Customer Died

DESHAWN T. INGRAM SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR DRUG-INDUCED HOMICIDE

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that 24-year-old Deshawn T. Ingram of Chicago, Illinois, pled guilty Drug-Induced Homicide, a class X Felony, before the Honorable Judge Michael Coppedge.

This case centered around the overdose death of a 35-year-old victim who was found unresponsive on August 20, 2020 after ingesting illegal narcotics.

An investigation into the death by the Woodstock Police Department revealed that the deceased had obtained drugs from Ingram.

Ingram was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections. Under truth in sentencing guidelines, Ingram must serve 75 percent of his sentence.

The investigation was led by Detective Dolan and was prosecuted by Judy Shammo of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.

  1. Tell your Homey’s McHenry County is not a good place to deal drugs, cuz if the customer dies, you will go to Prison for it.

    Prosecutor and Judges here agree on that.
