House Republicans Tank for Crooked ComEd

From Capitol Fax comes this position taken by Illinois House Re[publlicans:

[Yesterday], the labor front group for Exelon hosted a Statehouse rally and Leader Durkin spoke. While saying he wanted a “fair” result for consumers, he also said this to the gathered Exelon workers and other political dignitaries

Dresden Nuclear Power Plant.

Your voices have been heard. Our caucus, the House Republicans, standing with each and every one of you to ensure that our nuclear fleet will continue to operate and serve the better of Illinois. So with that, I thank you, keep up the work. Make sure your voices are loud. We are behind you. Have a great day.

This is the 2016 playbook all over again. I don’t think it’ll work this time around, but as I told you Wednesday, firming up Republican support is crucial for Exelon as the session enters its final days.

If your electric bill goes up, even $2 a month, you can place the blame on Republicans who vote for this Commonwealth Edison bailout bill.

House Republicans Tank for Crooked ComEd — 7 Comments

  1. Why didn’t RINO Durkin go all the way and say he wants an “equitable” result for consumers ?

Illinois Republicans are a very special kind of cowards, the self-serving kind to be exact.

  2. Is there legislation? If so, what is the bill number?

People need to start drawing lines in the sand and tell state legislators that this is not acceptable.

Bailing out a crooked company that has been bribing politicians is a hill you should be willing to fight on.

Are Republicans going to do the right thing or get bullied by the very unlikable Jim Durkin?

    Choose wisely.

Or else you’ll be getting replaced in a primary or replaced in a general election.

  3. Small potatoes when you compare it to HOW THE HELL DID THEY LET THE SMART METER THING TAKE HOLD?

Those damn meters are making EVERYONE deathly ill!

We need Nuremberg trials for all that are repsonsible for that abomination of mankind!

  4. There was a creepy nationwide push for Smart Meters.

There was also a national resistance to Smart Meters and they were sort of the predecessor to the anti-5G movement.

There are a lot of similarities in their arguments (electromagnetic radiation, privacy, mind control to name a few).

Not sure how many states Smart Meters are used in, but they were successful in getting them in northern Illinois for sure (and presumably statewide).

I believe Com-Ed was pushing Smart Meters here, and as we now know they were bribing politicians.

They were fined 200 million for that although it is estimated that their scams cost consumers 600-700 million dollars.

Now they want a bailout to the tune of 350 million dollars.

Of course, Jim Durkin doesn’t ask their parent company to bail them out — he wants to pickpocket taxpayers.

A quick search shows me that Obama pushed smart meters hard early in his presidency and he was pressured by Google, Nokia, General Electric, Intel, Stonington Global LLC, and others to do so.

These big businesses are as rotten as the big government.

Look up the shenanigans that Black Rock does.

    That is another evil company.

Or look at Jeff Bezos trying to get a 10 billion dollar bailout from the government after his wealth went up by tens of billions of dollars during the pandemic while the average person got poorer.

  5. GOP leaders are such slimy pieces of sh—.

    They masquerade as conservatives.

  6. The flipside is we in northern Illinois have extremely reliable electricity.

    I’ll pay for that.

It’s all the other liberal nonsense I find objectionable

  7. Paul Revere our own retard.

Hey ‘Macrito’ I can reverse score your posts here and out you.
