Sex Ed Bill Passes by One Vote, Ness Supported and Could Be Said to Be THE Deciding Vote

Here is the House Roll Call from Senate Bill 818, the legislation imposing new rules on the teaching of sexual education:

Of local State Reps., only Suzanne Ness voted in favor.

Here is the Senate Roll Call:

No local Senators voted for the bill.

Commentary on the bill can be found here.

Part of it, by Laurie Higgins of the Illinois Family Institute follows:

In grades 3-5, the National Sex Education Standards–and therefore Villivalam’s bill–would require boys and girls in co-ed settings to,

  • “Explain common human sexual development including … masturbation.”
  • “Describe the … potential role of hormone blockers on young people who identify as transgender.”
  • “Distinguish between sex assigned at birth and gender identity and explain how they may or may not differ.”
  • “Define and explain differences between cisgender, transgender, gender nonbinary, gender expansive, and gender identity.”
  • “Explain that gender expression and gender identity exist along a spectrum.”
  • “Define sexual orientation.”
  • “Differentiate between sexual orientation and gender identity.”

Many parents would argue that it is not the role of government-employed “educators” to teach other people’s 8-11-year-old children about masturbation, hormone blockers for cross-sex identifying children, or gender expansiveness.

Remember, if this law passes, no school would be able to provide any teaching in grades k-5 on personal health and safety unless it included the information just outlined.

Sex Ed Bill Passes by One Vote, Ness Supported and Could Be Said to Be THE Deciding Vote — 11 Comments

  1. Ness won’t be moderate just because she’s from McHenry County.

Her mother is a lesbian and involved with the UU “church.”

The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree of life if you know what I’m saying.

  2. Well we are in this situation because Skillicorn was not serious about running, said nothing and did nothing to win because he was planning on leaving town anyway and the McHenry County GOP did NOTHING to ensure we had a viable candidate.

    Bravo

  3. It is ridiculous to pin blame for this Democrat Bill monstrosity on Skillicorn.

  4. I didn’t know that Lou Ness had become a Unitarian.

I know at one time she was a deacon in the Episcopal Church.

Maybe the Episcopal Church wasn’t liberal enough for her.

That’s kind of a scary thought.

  5. It’s quite easy to draw that conclusion.

It’s easy to draw a line of causation from one thing to another to another.

Skillicorn did almost nothing during the campaign and was not serious about running.

    Then he lost the seat.

This article says the bill passed by one vote.

Ness is that vote. Ness has her seat because of Skillicorn’s inaction.

That district was winnable for Republicans.

Cynthia may have one thing wrong and that’s the part about MCGOP doing nothing.

There were “try outs” for candidates interested in replacing Skillicorn, but he decided to not step down even knowing that he was moving.

They certainly didn’t put any public pressure on him to step down though.

It was irresponsible for him to do that, and we may never know why he acted that way, but I wouldn’t be shocked to learn he was trying to stick it to the GOP on his way out.

    Call it schadenfreude perhaps.

He was pretty much blackballed by his own party.

He had a terrible relationship with the Republican “leadership” of the legislature who didn’t like him and refused to entertain his bills (not that Democrats would have supported them anyway).

On the other hand, had Skillicorn or some other Republican been in that seat instead of Ness, the bill could have still passed.

There were some Dems who are recorded as NV.

Had things been different, Democrats probably could have gotten one of them to vote yes so it probably doesn’t matter.

But it is true that Ness has her seat because Skillicorn threw in the towel.

  6. School choice vouchers would be nice. Let parents pick what sex ed their children will be exposed to.

  7. That Congresswoman Margie Green will tell you, this is the kind of thing that gives polyamorous tantric sex guru’s a bad rap.

  8. Ness wants to see sexual grooming centers set up for boys in which perverts can play with them.

    Ness is a cultural marxist.

But watch what happens to her when things turn around.

  9. Ness and her Mother are LGBTQ.

She will vote with radicals to ruin our kids minds byradical indoctrinators.

    Sickening.

You want to be gay – you feel you’re trans, I don’t care just don’t bring this to kids.

  10. Dan Alyward needs to be investigated.

    Check his cellphone out.
