Joe Walsh Gets Schooled by Kira Davis on Faith, the Church and Scripture

Kira Davis

Former IL Congressman (and 2020 presidential candidate) Joe Walsh of Lake County tweeted criticism of Meghan McCain for her stance on abortion, and why President Biden on unbiblical ground with his stance on issues of Right-to-Life, specifically, abortion and the Hyde Amendment.

For full context, here’s the video with the 2 minute McCain statement from Monday’s episode of The View, embedded in the tweet by The Daily Beast contributing editor Justin Baragona (click arrow to play):

Joe Walsh (right)

Walsh tweeted in defense of President Biden, whom the former 1-term Republican congressman in the old 8th District supported last fall.

Monday night, Red State Editor-at-Large Kira Davis responded in the way she does best, telling it like it is by Scripture.

And Davis is 100% correct about the role of the Church, the corporate body of believers as taught in Scripture concerning the absolute truth of God’s Word which McCain was professing on The View.

Walsh’s tweet from yesterday early afternoon, quote-tweeted by Davis at 8:45PM CDT:

Joe Walsh Gets Schooled by Kira Davis on Faith, the Church and Scripture — 34 Comments

  1. Joe Walsh – a name that will forever be synonymous with buffoon, yet another embarrassment
to the late great state of Illinois.

  2. Walsh is a Zionist blackmailee.

What do they have on him?

He, Biden and McCain can all roast in hell, but not before life sentences on Devil’s Island, French Guiana.

Yes, the Vichy like regime of a regenerated France will allow the US and certain S. American countries to imprison notorious toads on Devil’s Island.

    Biden’s stay won’t be long.

  3. Is Megan McCain also going to advocate against the death penalty?

Are Catholic priests going to start denying communion for elected officials that support the death penalty?

Or do they both just prefer theater over theology and doctrine?

  4. Shake again proves it is a simpleton that can only operate in cliches and doesn’t understand an ounce of Scripture.

Or does understand Scripture and intentionally denies it.

Of course the murder of innocents is not on par with the death penalty for murder, given by God in The Book of Genesis as a punishment for murder.

This goes over the head of the simpleton’s brain.

No deeper than a sheet of paper is this troll.

  5. Knowledgematters, I read the article.

Where did you read Kira Davis changing her faith?

Are you meaning a Christian reading the Scriptures and applying them is “pop up Pastoral opinion”?

Scripture clear God teaches all through His word.

Please read Numbers ch. 25, because Davis defended Meghan McCain defense of her faith through publicly defending God’s honor through her witness against abortion.

  6. Haven’t we had this discussion before ?

There are many Christians (and Christian denominations) who believe government has no business dictating a decision such as abortion.

It doesn’t mean they favor abortion, it merely means they think such a decision should be left up to the individual, not Big Brother.

Moreover, even were Roe overturned tomorrow, the likelihood is that many, if not most, states would sanction some type of abortion on demand.

And ironically, Jesus’s own faith held that personhood only begins at birth when a newborn takes its first breath and the soul enters its body.

Before birth the fetus is considered a physical part of a pregnant woman’s body, not yet having life of its own or independent rights.

  7. LOL Chase – your understanding of the Bible seems pretty limited.

First, you should read the New Testament.

Second, opposition to the death penalty is a tenet of the Catholic faith.

    Third, some questions for you:

    – what does the Bible say about abortion?
    – what does the Bible (and especially Jesus) say about the death penalty?
    – how did the New Testament impact the teachings of the old testament.

I’ll patiently wait for some answers that show you have any understanding of the Bible.

And then we can have a discussion about it.

  8. Shake is right that the Catholic Church is officially against capital punishment. They changed the catechism in 2018.
But is Megan claiming to be a Catholic? Is she part of a church that rejects capital punishment? If not, why does she need to speak about that? I don’t think it’s as clear cut as Shake thinks it is or else maybe the Catholic church wouldn’t have waited until 2018 to change it. Here’s a pro/con list.
    https://www.bbc.co.uk/religion/religions/christianity/christianethics/capitalpunishment_1.shtml

There are conflicting things on abortion too depending on what line you look at. People just pick the ones that go along with their personal beliefs and emphasize those ones instead of the other ones, same with capital punishment, same with diet and what you personally enjoy eating, same with predestination, same with resistible vs irresistible grace, same with purgatory, which books are canonical and what books are not, which translation is the best, etc. It’s all so tiresome. I’m not going to be involved in any debates about the Bible.

In regard to OP, I think Joe Walsh is a pearl clutcher. All McCain said was Biden’s going to have to answer to his creator. How is that “imposing her faith” on Biden whose faith says he will be judged by his creator? She didn’t condemn him to hell either. Joe Walsh is an attention whore. He KNOWS McCain’s tweet is going viral and is upsetting people, so he has to insert himself into the scandal to try to make himself relevant, and of course he sides with the people attacking her because that’s his GRIFT. That’s what he does. That’s his shtick. He panders to the people who have snowflakes, blue waves, and rainbows in their Twitter names. Walsh can’t make money as a right winger who is anti-Trump, so he started pandering heavily to #resist Twitter: the BlueaAnons. Sure, he talks about being conservative and occasionally disagrees with a Democrat, but his bread and butter is to punch right. Most of his takes are no different than what you might hear from a CNN or MSNBC blue check mark. Walsh voted for Biden and endorsed Biden. He gushes and fawns over Biden, talking about how proud he is that Biden is president instead of Trump. He goes on vulgar tirades against Trump and the GOP. Walsh is more rabidly anti-Trump and anti-GOP than Adam Kinzinger. Walsh is just a crybaby attention whore. He says he is pro-life so presumably he is okay with the government banning or more strictly regulating abortion, and he says he is Christian, yet someone telling a Catholic (which is a subset of Christianity) that they will be judged by their creator which is according to their faith is crossing the line, too wacky and offensive for Joe Walsh and to do so is imposing faith on others… The man is an idiot. The way I see it, if I’m agreeing with Megan McCain instead of you, you goofed up badly!

  9. It’s sad some posters parade their faith as better, more accurate, whatever, than other’s while seemingly forgetting:

    (1) “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”
    John 13:34

    (2) “Vengeance is mine, and I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them.”
    Deuteronomy 32:35

If I properly remember my Baltimore Catechism, we are all given free will and will ultimately be individually judged on how well (or poorly) we executed it.

“And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.”
    Matthew 25:33

Rather than judging and commenting on others, perhaps a more individual focus would be beneficial in the long-term.

“Judge not lest you be judged.”
    Matthew 7:1

Or, in simpler terms, perhaps Thumper and all of us should heed his Mom’s guidance in the movie Bambi:
“If you can’t say something nice, don’t say nothing at all.”

But then this blog would be much, much more sparse…

  10. Fear not brethren, for I am D J, Shaman of the wasteland.

I will now interact with the spirit world through an altered state of consciousness with a bottle of Smirnoff.

  11. Alabama, as a Satanist Universal Urintarian, what do you care?

  12. Hey Al, how much did you steal from Grafton Township?

    Just asking?

  13. “Innocent” isn’t it time to blow your boyfriend?

  14. Hey D J, since when did Texas become the “wasteland”?

To many, Texas is the “promised land”, and since Texas gained 2 congressional seats in 2020 Census, quite a few folks crossed the Red River (or the Sabine) to get to Texas in past 10 years.

  15. (S)he who thinks (s)he knows does not know.

(S)he who knows (s)he does not know, knows….

  16. Wow you are dense Shake. I can tell you haven’t given the Bible much of a thought.

    – what does the Bible say about abortion?

    Thou shall not murder.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.

Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.

    – what does the Bible (and especially Jesus) say about the death penalty?

Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.

I and the Father are One.

    – how did the New Testament impact the teachings of the old testament.

Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.

What, do you think that since Jesus said that the penalty for adultery should not be stoning that abortion and the death penalty are morally equivalent?

Go bark up another tree with that nonsense.

He never equated the two and he never advocated abolishing the death penalty.

    He embraced His Cross.

I’m not going to have a discussion with you.

I’ll point out how dense and anti Christian you are for the sake of others.

I’m not going to waste my time with someone who isn’t in the same universe as Christians.

I’ll simply point out where you are way off, which in this case is not difficult at all.

  17. I was looking forward to DJ’s vodka fueled spiritual awakening.

    What a tease!

By the way, Al Zielinski’s motive for “judgement” has to be questioned.

The last time Al Zielinski was judged by his peers he got voted out of office like 8 or 9 to 1.

  18. Chase G. just DIRECTLY responded to Shake with answers to ALL of Shake’s questions, sometimes going beyond citing one Biblical passage and citing multiple passages!

Beyond that, he put Shake’s questions into CONTEXT through comparison to show Shake is drawing false equivalencies.

How does Shake, who first called out conservative readers of the Bible for not understanding the Bible, RESPOND to what Chase just said?

What is Shake’s scripturally supported rebuttal?

  19. Curious that the very folks who authored the Bible would have included in the definition of murder a practice which under their law (then and now) was not deemed murder.

  20. Innocent, why do you call yourself that.

Your true adjective should be ‘diabolical’ or ‘diseased’.

  21. **– what does the Bible say about abortion?

    Thou shall not murder.
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.**

That’s some pretty lousy exegesis. I don’t believe that any of those mention abortion. Do you know that abortions happened in the Ancient Near East? Yet the Bible says ZERO words against abortion? In fact, there are old testament passages that talk about the concepts of an unborn fetus. And none of those are anti-abortion. In fact, passages like Numbers 5 talk about inducing an abortion of unfaithful wives.

**– what does the Bible (and especially Jesus) say about the death penalty?

Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.
I and the Father are One.**

Uh, have you read the New Testament? And how is the second sentence related to the death penalty? Jesus pretty explicitly rejected this law from Genesis, and rejected “eye for an eye” justice, more than once.

**Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.**

Interesting, which old testament laws do you follow? Do you cut off a woman’s hands if she grabs your genitals while you’re fighting her husband? Do you treat menstruating women as unclean, and never sit in the same spot as a woman who is menstruating?

What about wearing clothes of different types of fabric? Ever touch a football? Do you make tassels on your clothing?

Oh, and by the way. In Old Testament law, when you beat a pregnant woman, you only get in trouble when the woman is injured (or dead), not the fetus.

**He never equated the two and he never advocated abolishing the death penalty. He embraced His Cross.**

One, I never said he equated the two, so let’s avoid strawmen?
Two, he never equated the two, because he NEVER talked about abortion, but did reject the death penalty and “eye for an eye” justice.

All you have shown me is that you have a really bad understanding of Biblical context, and you want to try to force isolated passages into your own narrative, even though they’re not about the things you claim them to be about.

Oh, and I can keep going if you want. And LOL at not giving the Bible much thought.

  22. **Chase G. just DIRECTLY responded to Shake with answers to ALL of Shake’s questions, sometimes going beyond citing one Biblical passage and citing multiple passages!**

It is true. He copied random isolated verses under my questions, but seemingly not understanding both the context of those verses nor the fact that most of the isolated verses had little/nothing to do with the topic at hand.

But it was a valiant effort.

  23. There is defending one’s faith, which everyone is free to do, and then there is supporting a law demanding, under state compulsion or prohibition, that everyone else comply with said faith. One is liberty; the other is the obverse.

  24. Because, were you projecting again?

“(S)he who thinks (s)he knows does not know.

(S)he who knows (s)he does not know, knows…”

  25. Primate Gay, but your LGBTZ agenda is also a religion! A false one, but a faith nonetheless.

  26. Shake doesn’t have the slightest clue from where passages are laid out, then gaslights. Typical communist.

“ I don’t believe that any of those mention abortion.”

That’s because you are a moron.

The Bible clearly equates being in the womb with personhood. The Bible clearly condemns murder of innocent persons.

The Bible doesn’t need to mention “abortion”. It condemns murder.

Are you aware the Bible never mentions “Trinity” either?

Probably not. I doubt you’ve read any more than your search engine provided.

“ Uh, have you read the New Testament?”

Er, the passage one sentence before comes directly from the words of Jesus you imbecile. It is pretty clear that Jesus and the Father are One Voice, not that I would expect an anti-Christian to recognize this.

Again, you are a typical communist.

“ One, I never said he equated the two, so let’s avoid strawmen?”

You literally started this thread equating abortion with the death penalty.

    Stupid, forgetful, gaslighting communist.

Must you LOL in every thread? It sure does highlight that there is no deep thought process going on in your head.

You are no deeper than a sheet of paper.

I’m sure you could keep going. As a fish is not aware it is in water a simpleton is not aware of his mental limitations and keeps spouting nonsense.

I have no interest in continuing a discussion with an apostate. I’ll just correct when you are obviously wrong.

Watch for those who cause division and avoid them.

  27. “ It is true. He copied random isolated verses under my questions, but seemingly not understanding both the context of those verses nor the fact that most of the isolated verses had little/nothing to do with the topic at hand.”

This quote here again shows that Shake is incapable of understanding that the Bible is one book, not a series of random short stories.

It is most likely due to Shake being an anti Christian and not just a simpleton, though that is certainly a factor. I mean, he didn’t even know that “I and the Father are One” comes from the New Teatament.

Or maybe I should just say “LOL” so the foolish can understand.

  28. I notice I did not address another ridiculous analogy drawn by AlabamaSimpleton:

“ Interesting, which old testament laws do you follow? Do you cut off a woman’s hands if she grabs your genitals while you’re fighting her husband? Do you treat menstruating women as unclean, and never sit in the same spot as a woman who is menstruating?

What about wearing clothes of different types of fabric?

    Ever touch a football?

Do you make tassels on your clothing?”

Err, you are aware that the moral law and ritual law and dietary laws are distinct from one another, aren’t you?

(Rhetorical question, I’m sure you haven’t the slightest clue.)

You’re aware that the ceremonial and dietary laws were not given to the Gentiles, aren’t you?

You are aware that the issue of capital punishment was given to Noah, long before Abraham and the people of Israel were born, therefore this issue would be applicable to us all, not specifically the Israelites?

    Of course not.

You can’t even remember that you started this discussion by equating abortion with capital punishment.

How would you be aware of anything deeper?

“Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools”

  29. “Er, the passage one sentence before comes directly from the words of Jesus you imbecile” Who’s the imbecile.

Have you ever done any serious bible study.

The New testaments are not even eyewitness accounts.

These were written some eighty to one hundred years after the time of Jesus.

These were oral stories handed down until the scribes eventually wrote them down.

They were not even codified until around 325 AD when Constantine was the Emperor.

They have been translated so many time that they can’t even be sure of the original translations.

There are competing gospels that even contradict the new testament that were left out of the the bible.

And yes I have taken classes.

    8 yrs Catholic grade school.

4 years Catholic high school and 4 years Catholic college where theology was a mandatory curriculum of study.

  30. ** This quote here again shows that Shake is incapable of understanding that the Bible is one book, not a series of random short stories.**

LOL – you don’t even treat the Bible as short stories. You treat it as a random collection of sentences and sometimes just phrases. FWIW, chances are that I’ve spent more time doing Biblical exegesis and hermeneutics than you have, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

And where did I say that “I and the Father are one” wasn’t in the new testament?

** Err, you are aware that the moral law and ritual law and dietary laws are distinct from one another, aren’t you?**

Err, yes. I am aware. Now show me where abortion is in either of them, because you haven’t done that yet. Also, while you’re at, maybe you could explain why the Jewish faith generally isn’t opposed to abortion.

** You can’t even remember that you started this discussion by equating abortion with capital punishment.**

Not sure what you’re talking about. But I do remember what I’ve said in this conversation.

  31. “ Have you ever done any serious bible study.

The New testaments are not even eyewitness accounts.

These were written some eighty to one hundred years after the time of Jesus.

These were oral stories handed down until the scribes eventually wrote them down.”

It’s hard to take seriously a lapsed Catholic who obviously rejects the words of at least two of the Gospels.

  32. “ FWIW, chances are that I’ve spent more time doing Biblical exegesis and hermeneutics than you have, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.”

    Highly, highly unlikely.

“ And where did I say that “I and the Father are one” wasn’t in the new testament?”

You literally quote that and then pretend to not know it’s in the New Testament.

“ Now show me where abortion is in either of them,”

I literally showed where people in the womb are shown to be persons by the Lord.

And that murder of persons is condemned.

And abortion, being the murder of a person, therefore is condemned.

    This is not rocket science.

“ . But I do remember what I’ve said in this conversation.”

Third post in this thread you go from abortion right to the death penalty.

    You’re a gas lighter.

    Nothing more.

In order to continue advancing their illogical arguments modern liberals have to pretend not to know things.

  33. You can’t even refute empirical data and research. The last bastion of the religious zealot. Faith and the inability to think for ones self. You do realize the sun is the center of our solar system. I’d like to know who was around to witness the creation story to record it’s accuracy. If god destroyed the Earth who was around to record the story of Noah. Why is it that Judeo-Christian mythology is anymore real than the mythology of any of the other thousands of other religions that have existed of the centuries. Your Faith. The last bastion of the inability to reason for ones self.
