Independence Day – Republicans on Parade

Democrat Party candidates came first in Crystal Lake’s 4th of July Parade.

Strangely, there was no mention that they were Democrats and the party itself had no representation.

Three Democratic Party incumbents paraded, two in person–State Rep. Suzanne Ness and Congresswoman Loren Underwood–while Congressman Sean Casten merely sent signage.

After the Democrats in e came the Republicans.

McHenry County Republican Party banner led the GOP contingent.

Behind the banner were signs supporting Tony Colatorti for McHenry County Sheriff. (He sent a press release announcing his candidacy latter in the day. It will be published Tuesday.)

A banner for Gary Rabine for Governor came next.

“Paving the Way to Stay” is the slogan on the Rabine for Governor banner.

People dressed in red Rabine for Governor tee shirts followed the banner.

The second Sheriff’s candidate’s banner, one for Robb Tadelman, came next.

Tadelman supporters, including a waving Algonquin Township Road Commissioner Danijela Sandberg were behind the banner.

With no signage, I didn’t recognize motorized McHenry County Board Chairman Mike Buehler(on the left) until he sped past me.

Mike Buehler can be seen on a motorized scooter on the left.

Next came a Jeep with “gunner” Glen Swanson.

I notice from another photo that the bumper sticker under the woman’s leg is for Mike Buehler.

An old Dodge has more prominent signage for Buehler.

McHenry County Clerk Joe Tirio was riding in the next vehicle.

On the trailer was an American Revolutionary reactor Rudolfo Cabrera and the man who wants to replace Suzanne Ness, Gary Daugherty.

McHenry County State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally was next.

Kane County’s Bobby Pinton is a Republican candidate for United States Senate.

The final portion of the Republican entry was a golf course on which owner Carl Komienski from Johnsburg announced his candidacy for the McHenry County Board.

  1. IDK anything about Tony Colatorti, but it’s good to have a choice for Sheriff.

I’m not the least bit impressed with Robb Tadelman.

  2. I like Bobby Pitton. I will never vote for Rabine for Governor.

Need more information on the other candidates.

Clearly, Republicans are losing support in McHenry County due to all the conspiracy nonsense Covid Hoax theories.

We, Republicans, were never ever conspiracy mongers but a handful of cult followers have changed the dynamic.

  3. It’s great that Republicans are going to have a competitive primary for Sheriff!

I don’t have anything against Robb per se (I don’t know much about him) but having primaries is overall a positive thing.

I wonder who Democrats will run.

Clerk and maybe Treasurer are also up next year.

Keep an eye out for candidates there too, people, and if you know something let Cal know!

    He’ll publish their press releases.

Don’t forget the Libertarian Party has county wide ballot access now, so they could run candidates too including county board candidates.

I see the Democrats drew part of Steve Reick’s district into Lake County so now I don’t think a Libertarian could run there (currently, Reick’s district is wholly within McHenry County).

I didn’t realize Carl K was running for county board.

I’d ask what district he’s in, but we’re going to be getting new county board maps later this year.

  4. Tony Colatorti would be my choice for sheriff…..

Tadleman is a prime example of Primms “Peter Principle”

All Primm did was promote incompetence to other levels…

Primm did nothing to improve his office

And what a disappointment Buehler turned out to be…..

  5. Not much of a competitive looking bunch to take on the Democratic Incumbents if you ask me.

  6. NO CAL that is GARY DAUGHERTY running for Allen Skillicorn’s old seat!

  7. Bill Matteson, He wanted the board to vote on renewing or not the proclamation Franks put forth.

The real disappointment were all the spineless Republicans being afraid of being called names by the Dems.

Which they will do anyway-because that’s all they’ve got!

I think Buehler was as surprised as you and I are that they voted to fly that flag.

    Shame on each of them!

  8. The R’s didn’t smell like raw sewage, can’t say the same about the D’s.

  9. John Lopez, you tell us how serious Lauf is about running.

I didn’t see her at the parade.

  10. Mattesonis right. Tadelman, a Franks consort, is a toxic character who is a demon rat on all social issues.

Danielle Sandberg is a poor presenter.

She only won her Township perch because Bob Miller was one of the very few people in the township who was worse than her!

I see she brought a large Lazy Boy reclining chair into her township office.

    Yup!

  11. I meant Bob Miller’s work shy son-in-Law Derek LEE in the above post, not the crook Bob Miller.

  12. Let us not forget how Allen Skillicorn screwed over every single Republican who helped him get elected.

What a terrible thing he did to McHenry county so he could keep 100K war chest and simply get up and move.

  13. Tadelman is a Democrat carpet bagger.

Hey where was the RINO float?

  14. Tirio has a$$ed up every election since in office in some way or another. WHY reelect?
