Child Support Promise Lures Cary Woman to Ex-Boyfriend’s Car Where He Forced Her to Accompany Him to Hoffman Estates Hotel for Sexual Assault

Kidnapping, Unlawful Restraint, Domestic Battery Arrest

On Thursday July 29, 2021 at approximately 11:00 a.m. a female came to the Cary Police Department and reported she was battered and held against her will by her ex-boyfriend earlier in the morning.

In summary, the female’s ex-boyfriend contacted her and lured her to his place of employment in Cary to retrieve money for their child from his vehicle in the parking lot.

The female drove to the location, exited her vehicle, and learned her ex-boyfriend was waiting for her in his vehicle.

The male forced the female into his vehicle.

The male then drove the female victim to a hotel in Hoffman Estates where he led her to a hotel room.

While in the hotel room the male sexually assaulted the female.

The male then drove the female back to her vehicle in Cary.

On Friday July 30th at approximately 6:00 a.m. Cary Police Officers were dispatched to the male offender’s place of employment in the 200 block of Jandus Rd. for a trespassing complaint.

Management at the business called to report the offender was at the business and was no longer permitted to be on the property.

Prior to officers arriving at the business, the offender left in a vehicle.

A short time later officers located the vehicle and the offender in the parking lot of a business in the 100 block of E. Main St.

The offender was initially placed under arrest for Domestic Battery for the incident that occurred the previous morning on July 29th.

After consulting with the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, the offender, identified as 36-year-old David Silva of Streamwood, was charged with the following crimes in McHenry County:

  • 1 Count of Kidnapping (class 2 felony)
  • 1 Count of Unlawful Restraint (class 4 felony)
  • 2 Counts of Domestic Battery (class A misdemeanor)

Silva was transported to the McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing.

This case is currently under review by the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office to determine if charges will be filed for the acts committed in Hoffman Estates.-

  1. Melon head was released from Jail on, wait for it “his own recognizance”….gee,he must be an outstanding member of the community.

    From the story it appears he was hiding and caught at the bar in Cary way way down on East Main st, almost at the River.

    I could be wrong–but I’ll avoid it if he hangs there.

    Nice place, off the beaten path, decent people, cept for Melon head Silva if in fact he drinks there–or just randomly picked that place to hide?

    Why judges getting so lenient in this county on Bail?

    Inquiring minds have been wondering if Cowlin gets his orders from Cook County to lighten up on criminals out here.

    Or maybe we got Silva all wrong, he’s a good guy afterall.

    Good enough in a judges eyes to go home with no cash bail.
