Schimpf Reacts to Pritzker’s Mask Mandate for K-12 Children and Mandatory Vaccination for State Employees

WATERLOO – Paul Schimpf, Republican candidate for Governor of Illinois, issued the following statement in response to Pritzker’s mask mandate for P-12 children and mandatory vaccination order for state workers announced today:

“JB Pritzker’s mandatory vaccination order for state workers is inconsistent with the civil liberties that I spent 24 years on active duty defending.

“Furthermore, his P-12 education mask mandate usurps the authority of parents, school board members, and superintendents, further undermining confidence in the rule of law. I vehemently disagree with Governor Pritzker’s action today.”

  1. It’s not a freedom issue.

The state and federal government already mandate basic threshold requirements for children’s health and welfare, including immunizations.

This is so because it is uniquely the government’s role to oversee public health issues, as communicable diseases impact the entire community — both at very local level and interstate and inter-community levels.

    Everyone.

If you think you have a civil liberty to infect others with disease, you do not understand the concept of a civil liberty and should not be in charge of administering citizens’ rights.

  2. It is a freedom issue, doof-Quixote.

If concern for safety was uppermost, we wouldn’t have a sanctuary state!

Can’t wait for the next Michigan Avenue looting riot!

  3. Another miss!

It’s not and shouldn’t be up to school boards and superintendents,

They are Socialist Democrats who will go along with JB Pritzker !

This should be up to the parents and the students.

    Period!

And how’s that “no campaigning on Sundays” going for you, Schimpf?

We need a Governor 7 days a week if necessary and if you haven’t noticed, it’s necessary!
