Will Republican Winnebago County State’s Attorney J. Hanley cut a deal with Rockford Police Office Eric Thurmond that is not a felony?
Lake County Democrat Eric F. Rinehar cut felony charges against ex-Vernon Hills Deputy Police Chief Eric F. Rinehar to a misdemeanor, thus allowing him to keep his pension.
The crime has to be directly related to the job for someone to lose their pension.
Unless he rapes someone on duty he keeps his pension.
Furthermore this guy was a cop for only a couple of years so he’s not vested in the pension system anyway.
Plus he has been getting full pay for the last 3 years and not working, which accumulated pension pay benefits and insurance.
There has to be a better way to suspend without pay.
Other states suspend and fire immediately so I know it must be a union thing.
That way the cases get settled sooner and the pension is the golden egg that gets pulled in a case like this.
He was a trusted resident living in a tough subdivision paid for by the program that sent officers to live free in a house for their presence.
He allegedly took advantage of his popularity in there to get rape accusations leveled against him.
These coward prosecutors use the pension to get them to plead instead of trying the cases that would get the pension automatically forfeited.
What is worse, he is a new states attorney from Arizona that is too afraid to prosecute anyone.
He just dropped murder charges against a gang banger that was in the system for the last 4 years, I guess the old female black states attorney and grand jury were dumb and he is the smartest prosecutor ever.
Still another Rockford officer in the system that was accused of a sex assault crime about 3 years ago and I wonder how much his pension will play in that case too?
Maybe plead guilty to running a stop sign and keep your pension?
What a joke, he will not get reelected, take his beauty queen wife back to Arizona.
