Ah, for the good old days (the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s) when McHenry County was in one or two districts and people had a clue who represented them in Springfield.
The sclicing and dicing of Crystal Lake puts residents in four, rather than the current three State Rep. Districts.
It appears that State Rep. Steve Reick has been put in the same district as Rockford’s Joe Sosnowski.
Redistricting is no longer about having someone represent a particular geographical area.
It is about obtaining and holding onto control of legislative bodies by one party or the other.
