Frpm GOP gubernatorial hopeful Gary Rabine:
Today, we commemorate the 20th anniversary of one of the darkest days in our nation.
In our personal lives, one of the hallmarks of our character is how we respond to adversity and the same can be said for nations.
There is no question 9-11 was a tragic day that should never be forgotten, but out of the ashes of the World Trade Center and the downed Flight 93 came a resilient and united nation. People from all across the country rolled up their sleeves to help fellow Americans they had never even met. It should not take a terrible event like 9-11 to bring out that same kind of decency and sense of purpose once again in our nation.
But as we commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9-11, our nation is more divided than ever. It is my hope that the remembrance of this day 20 years ago may serve as a rallying point for a more united country. We must show our support for the men and women protecting our communities and stand up for the values that have made our nation great.
We must never forget the events of 9-11 and we must never forget what it is that made our nation great. I will keep fighting for our state and our nation and I will keep working to end the war on families that is tearing us apart and I invite you to stand with me. Together we can reclaim our lost American values and put our state and our nation on the right track.
