$64 Million to Ransom Americans Left in Afghanistan?

From Jim Tobin’s Taxpayers United of America:

Ransom Payment? Biden Administration Sending $64 Million In Taxpayer Dollars To Taliban Controlled Afghanistan

n a press report, the Biden Administration announced that it is sending $64 million dollars to Taliban Controlled Afghanistan.

According to the report:

THE UNITED STATES ANNOUNCES NEARLY $64 MILLION IN ADDITIONAL HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE FOR AFGHANISTAN

For Immediate Release

Today, the United States announced nearly $64 million in additional humanitarian assistance for the people of Afghanistan. This funding from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and the U.S. Department of State will flow through independent organizations, such as UN agencies and NGOs, and provide life-saving support directly to Afghans facing the compounding effects of insecurity, conflict, recurring natural disasters, and the COVID-19 pandemic. For assistance to be effective, we will need an environment conducive to the principled delivery of aid, including the ability for both female and male aid workers to operate freely. This contribution underscores the United States’ commitment to the Afghan people.

“This payment is highly suspicious,” noted Matthew Schultz, executive director of Taxpayers United of America.

“We know from recent testimony from Secretary of State Antony Blinken that eoughly 100 American citizens who want to leave Afghanistan remain in the country as of the end of last week.

“We also know for a fact that the Taliban have hampered US civilian efforts to leave the country.

“If this is not outright a ransom payment, then what else is it?

“Assuming that any of this money actually reaches people, and is not just intercepted by the Taliban, than what does it achieve?

“Afghanistan is in chaos.

“There is a drought in the country, police have been replaces with Islamic radicals, and banks are limiting withdrawals dur to a fear of a bank run. (Source: The Guardian.)

“Infusions of ‘aid’ into the economy would help stabilize the country, and strengthen the Taliban’s control.

“In essence, no matter who the money goes to in Afghanistan, it will help the Taliban.

“The only way to know if this really is a ransom payment is to see what happens next.

“Either way, the situation is ridiculous.

“Taxpayers pay enormous amounts of money to the government to ensure our safety and security.

” Indeed, a large portion of our tax bill goes to fund the greatest military force in the world.

“To think that despite all the money that we pay for all these ships, planes, and tanks, that hundreds of Americans are left behind enemy lines is absurd.

“The notion that we have to pay even more as a ransom to those that helped terrorists ram planes into our buildings is disgusting.”

$64 Million to Ransom Americans Left in Afghanistan? — 18 Comments

  1. Biden and most of his regime are incredibly incompetent as has been proven with their debacle in leaving Afghanistan. Also, lawless. This doofus, dope, buffoon, plagiarist, chump undid Trump polices, practices and procedures that worked well to control and limit the amount of illegal aliens invading our Nation at the southern border. Actually, Biden and his sidekick, Kamala Harris, were encouraging illegals to invade our Nation. There are US Code Laws which prohibit the encouragement of illegal aliens to invade our Nation. Who will step forward and charge this duo with violating laws on encouraging, sheltering, providing sanctuary for illegal aliens?

Recall that the buffoon Biden was VP to Barak Hussein Obama who sent billions in cash to Iran.

  2. Maybe the Afghani’s will buy some Hunter paintings with this cash plus the pallets of cash we left behind because of Miley’s and Austin’s incompetence.

Joe and his family have never met a grift they didn’t like.

Miley should be hanged for treason for going behind Trump’s back telling the CCP he will warn them ahead of time if the US was going to attack the CCP.

DC needs to be dismantled if we are ever getting our country back.

  3. We’ll see if Bob Woodward of Watergate fame is telling the truth about Miley. Miley must appear before the appropriate Senate Committee(s) along with Woodward. Let’s get to the facts.

Miley is an odd weird person to be in high command of our military. In recent months he was spouting some nonsense about white rage and CRT. That in itself makes him unfit to serve at his level, or any level for that matter, in our Military.

  4. Isnt Dan Akroyd still looking to kick Bob Woodwards ass for supposed lies about John Belushi’s lifestyle in the book he wrote, “Wired”?

Hey Dan, he hangs around a lot in his hometown of Wheaton if you want to still settle the score.

Wonder if Milley will threaten Woodward too.

Or maybe they arent lies–just like they werent about Belushi.

  5. All while America Sleeps behind the wheel Obydumb and regime continue to shove it up the American citizen rears.. who is holding the loot?!

who is watching the Vault ?

someone needs to put a lock on it

this is TREASON with the tax payers dollars mis use and he and all of his regime should be Jailed!! /

    Impeach…

    out of my/our office door…

its not bad enough he gave them billions of American Equipment ! j

    ust left there…

he is a true disgrace to America you can see how he and soros hate this country that protects their sorry rears…

while he puts up the fence again to our house!

dispicable can’t even call it human greedy pig maybe ..

  6. “Don’t underestimate Joe’s ability to fuck things up”, as said by BHO.

The pot calling the kettle black was never a more fitting analogy.

  7. Our crafty State Dept. figured $64 M, should cover an extended warranty on all that equipment we’ve left behind.

  8. Any articles over the past 10 years or so where Tobin asked how much money was being spent in Afghanistan and what we were trying to do there?

Not that the 64 million expenditure isn’t bad, but I’m just wondering if Tobin has criticized waste in regard to war/foreign policy before today.

  9. I’m wondering why I didn’t know about this until I received his press release.

  10. Hang the traitors who engineered this ….. but go back to 2001.

  11. Our Nation has a great lack of sound leadership as evidenced by the number of bad decisions by Biden and his regime. The most prominent being the “willful” reversal of Trump policies that induced a grand scale, and ongoing invasion of our southern border from people from around the world including the nefarious, drug dealers, gang leaders, etc. Biden and his people have no inclination to stop this invasion. Of course the most recent catastrophic decisions and lack of planning have been the debacle in leaving Afghanistan.

Before Biden was elected last November, there were many signs in recent years that he had a mental problem such as senility or dementia. But, preceding that were his decades as a politician were he was wrong many, many times on major issues. Such as not agreeing to go after and killing Bin Laden.

Biden’s history is that of lies, incompetence, stupidity and even plagiarism. What American over the last 50-60 years who graduated high school or college did not fully understand the mortal sin of plagiarism as warned about from all English teachers? Joe Biden no doubt had many teachers who warned about plagiarism but nonetheless, Joe was not about to be honest.

Joe has proven over the years and recently that he is a buffoon, dope and maybe even another term from Pennsylvania. Joe was born and grew up in Pennsylvania. Here is a term originated in that State that perhaps is appropriate for him. From WIKI:

Jagoff or jag-off is an American English derogatory slang term from Pittsburghese meaning a person who is stupid or inept.[1] It is most prominent in the Pittsburgh area and Pennsylvania in general.[

  12. Searching results, here are some of the outlets that covered it yesterday or the day before:

CNBC, The Hill, Politico, Business Insider, Washington Post, New York Times, Associated Press, The Independent, New York Magazine, TruthOut, Common Dreams, Spectrum News, Colorado Springs Gazette, Bay Area Reporter, and many more.

It was almost never right in the headline though.

The story is usually about UNICEF and starving Afghan kids.

So if you’re like me, you go, “NOT MY PROBLEM” and check the weather instead of clicking the story and reading it.

Heck, in the dang parts of the internet I’m in, it’s just assumed that this money is used to pay the Taliban in exchange for hostages, people that Biden didn’t get out because Biden did a sloppy evac — and that’s probably the *mildest* of the cynical ideas I’ve read…

  13. I don’t care if the Taliban is great again.

    It’s probably a good thing.

I just don’t want tax money spent on it.

  14. Fantastic items from you, man. I’ve be mindful your stuff
