Bob Anderson Broadens Crusade for Fewer Local Governments

Had lunch with retired Wonder Lake barber and super-acxtivist Bob Anderson recently.

He made the pitch that he is carrying to legislative and gubernatorial candiates that Illinois has too many local governmental units.

Bob Andeeson holind his new sign.

Hard to argue with his premise.

A closer look at Bob Anderson’s new consolidation sign.

There is no way that anyone can keep track of the local officials who determine how one’s tax dollars are spent.

Bob Anderson’s new button: “Figt Was!– 8,918 Governments–Consolidate.”

I have regularly challenged people just to name the tax districts their dollars finance.

Hard to remember anyone who could identify them all.

And, if one cannot remember the names of the districts, what hope is there that one has any idea who the elected and appointed tax district officials are?

  1. Cal, do you ever proofread?

I have to hand it to Anderson. He caught Richmond Township farming out its general assistance application work to the mudlarks of McHenry Township for a small fee.

The McHenry Township idiots screwed up the applications.

My outrage is: what the hell was Hain, the Supervisor of Richmond Township, doing for the fat salary he got? He only had a single function to perform as township ‘supervisor’ ….. handling the few applications for general assistance…. and he couldn’t even do that minimal work!

There also 3 townships in Illinois with the same name, York, in Carrol, Clark & DuPage counties.

But this forbidden by state law. http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/ilcs/documents/006000010K5-40.htm

  2. In the 1980 election Illinois and Texas had the same number of House of Representatives: 24
Today Illinois has 17 and Texas has 38.

That’s how disastrous Illinois has been and how successful Texas has been.

When you elect liberal, failure comes. This pattern repeats as though it were a law of physics.

Losers vote against a successful president because of “tweets” or “boorish behavior”.
Are you a loser? Losers cause failure.

  3. It takes a “village of I^%$&’s” to be politician in this County. Word on the street is that the City of McHenry Mayor required 3 tries on the mayoral application and had to seek help from another politician’s spouse to get it right before it would be accepted!!!

  4. I have been reading Mr Anderson in the NWH LTE for a while.

I always thought he was on to something.

Those township guys continue to fight him tooth and nail to protect their incomes and pensions based on waste and neoptism.

If I had hair I would let him cut it.

And Angry in Richmond Township, the gov’t only attracts the best and brightese – sarcasm on.

  5. As far as townships with duplicate names, it probably just needs to brought to the state’s attention.

  6. Bob looks great!!!!

I’ve enjoyed knowing his activism for 36 yrs.

Thanks ‘Angry’ for letting us know about the McH Township farming out part of the job, but not taking a cut in pay!!!!

    That’s just wrong!

  7. Cal, are you typing with your fingers or toes?

Bob Anderson is a thoughtful and committed guy who is doing what he believes to be in the best of the citizenry.

  8. Anderson has had the right conviction about townships for as long as I’ve known him, close to 30 years.

He has monitored them and their unnecessary “services,”.

Township Officials of Illinois keeps a stranglehold on the legislators, through their lobbying, that no citizen group can fight. Perhaps an effort to consolidate governments will prove more successful in eliminating these useless units.

    GO BOB!

  9. Excellent poster by Bob comparing Texas and Illinois.

Bob a tough and honest guy.

If for no other reason we should like this guy who is clean shaven.

There is no 2, 4, 8, etc days fuzz on his face.

He is not lazy about his personal hygiene as are so many today in political and popular culture.

  10. I support a fellow Marine like Anderson.

    He’s great.

    Townships blow.

  11. As a pilot, I moved around a lot.

Never had I place where there was a township.

    Somehow I survived.

The Road District of Mchenry Township destroyed my mailbox twice
