That’s what the new lighted sign at the Crystal Lake Plaza says.

Anyone want to be that Joseph's Market won't be packed when it re-opens Tuesday?

McHenry County Chairman’s Circle Reports

July 22, 2010 By: Cal Skinner Category: Crystal Lake Plaza, McHenry County Chairman's Circle, McHenry County Republican Central Committee, McHenry County Republican Headquarters, McHenry County Republican Party, Mike Tryon

The other committee of McHenry County Republican Party Chairman and State Representative Mike Tryon is called the McHenry County Chairman’s Circle.

It has had a lot of activity in the past, but little during the last six months.

The fund started with $11,800.

It raised no money.

It gave $1,000 to both Bill Brady’s campaign to the McHenry Township Republican Central Committee, plus $500 to the House Republican Organization.

Right in the tip of the "V" is where the McHenry County Republican Party has maintained an office for the last year and a half.

Other expenditures of $3,400 seem primarily for utilities for the Crystal Lake Plaza GOP office.

$6,300 is left.

Message of the Day – In Tatters

April 24, 2009 By: Cal Skinner Category: American flag, Crystal Lake Plaza, Huntley School District 158, Landmark School, McHenry Elementary School District 15, Message of the Day, Tattered

This American Flag reminds me of the one that I featured from the Crystal Lake Plaza.

Not quite as bad though.

Certainly worse than the frayed one I took a photo of outside the Huntley School District 158 administrative building a year ago.

Please let me know if you see a new flag has replaced this one.

I could say more, but why?

The shape of District 15′s says so much already.

Another Collecter of Used Wheelchairs

July 03, 2007 By: Cal Skinner Category: Crystal Lake Plaza, Joni and Friends, Joni Eareckson Tada, New Life Book Store

When I saw the Sunday Northwest Herald headline,

“Drive collects rehab equipment for poor,”

I thought I was going to read a story about the Woodstock-based The American Disabled Equipment Fund, a group holding a charity rock event on July 28th at the Penny Lane Pub. I wrote about it last Friday.

But, no.

It was about a California-based ministry called Joni and Friends.

Driving hither and yon, I have listen to Joni Eareckson Tada on WMBI every once in a while.

NW Herald reporter Regan Foster wrote that used wheel chairs, crutches and walkers can be taken to New Life Book Store in the Crystal Lake Plaza through July 14th. Leo Wiedenfeld, is heading up the “10 Days to Independence” collection effort.

Both appear to be commendable organizations.
