Dave Bachmann, who unsuccessfully ran as a Democrat for Coroner four years ago, has a blog entitled, “Dirty Keith vs. Dirty Harry.”

It’s up and it’s down, but, as of now, it’s up.

The top of Dave Bachmann’s “Dirty Keith v. Dirty Harry” blog today.

Bachmann has a couple of observations about the affidavit about Undersheriff Andy Zinke, which was filed by McHenry County Sheriff’s Deputy John Koziol, that you might find of interest.

Bachmann Characterizes Sheriff’s Candidate as “Lone Ranger”

Bill Prim

The Lone Ranger

Dirty Keith vs. Dirty Harry blogger Dave Bachmann continues to have an interest in the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department.

After reading about the candidacy of retired Des Plaines Police Commander Bill Prim, he says Prim reminds him of the Lone Ranger.

Prim is running against Keith Nygren Undersheriff Andy Zinke and attorney Jim Harrison.

Justice Department Checks Out McHenry County Blog

August 18, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Dave Bachmann, Dirty Keith vs Dirty Harry, Greg Pyle, Keith Nygren, McHenry County Sheriff, McHenry County Sheriff's Department

Note this visit to McHenry County Blog came on a Saturday morning. Having been a Federal employee (in the United States Budget Bureau during the Lyndon Johnson Administration–Civil Service), I know dedicated employees work overtime. In fact, a U.S. Postal Inspector called me from his vacation in St. Louis asking for evidence that I believe helped convince Roger Stanley to strike a deal with the U.S. Attorney’s Office with regard to a mail fraud charge.

Now, I’ll admit the link did not come straight from Washington to McHenry County Blog.

And whoever from the Justice Department was looking was interested in Greg Pyle, who Friday was denied bail on of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and producing child pornography by the sexual exploitation of a child.

It went by way of Dirty Keith vs. Dirty Harry, David Bachmann’s blog about the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department.

Bachmann has come out of remission to display maps where he thinks how “places children may be being moved about for the purposes of Criminal acts.”

He adds, “Many very tiny towns, many with populations of 300 persons, near to state or N[ational] Parks and or campgrounds, all just off a major interstate arterial systems, all with a major metropolitan area not far away. These type places have little to no consistent police attention.

“The perfect profile for criminal activity as it relates to human trafficking and drug smuggling.”

Bachmann has also posted a YouTube video of Pyle people might find of interest.

Bachmann’s “Dirty Keith vs. Dirty Harry” Blog Back

August 15, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Dave Bachmann, Dirty Keith vs Dirty Harry, Greg Pyle, Keith Nygren, McHenry County Sheriff, McHenry County Sheriff's Department

Former Democratic Party McHenry County Coroner’s candidate and, more recently, careful watcher of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department David Bachmann is back on line.

Given the second arrest of one of Keith Nygren’s Sergeants, a man named Greg Pyle, Bachmann runs the following headline on the top of this publication:

“McHenry County Sheriffs Department is Run By Perverts and Thugs! Feds Appear Engaged!!”

Clearly, Bachmann is pleased at the Federal involvement.

And not a fan of the leadership in the Sheriff’s Department.

If you haven’t taken a look recently, he has some observations you might find of interest.

Today, Bachmann has added a map of Wisconsin marked with places from which his blog got hits. He promises more state maps in the coming days.

Dave Bachmann thinks these marked towns, sources of hits on his blog, might be significant.

There is also a map of Michigan.

State’s Attorney Lou Bianchi Tells Judge He Fears Disbarment If He “Investigates, Indicts or Prosecutes” Sheriff Keith Nygren

April 11, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Bill Caldwell, Blake Horwitz, Conrad Floeter, Dave Bachmann, Donald Leist, Keith Nygren, Lou Bianchi, Mark Gummerson, McHenry County Sheriff, McHenry County Sheriff's Department, McHenry County State's Attorney, Special Prosecutor, Zane Seipler

Lou Bianchi

Wednesday afternoon, Associate Judge Thomas Meyer heard testimony from McHenry County State’s Attorney Lou Bianchi about the “conflict of interest” that Bianchi sees in representing Sheriff Keith Nygren in some seven suits and preparing 4-5 opinions and at the same time investigating, indicting and prosecuting him.

Bianchi based his position on the Rules of Conduct for Illinois attorneys, which basically says that an attorney can’t both defend and prosecute a client.

With little variation, that was the State’s Attorney refrain throughout the afternoon court session.

When asked whether specific criminal allegations, e.g., use of taxpayer dollars to use a 7-pointed star for political purposes or the more general use of public funds to promote his political career, would result in action on his part against the Sheriff, Bianchi’s repeated reply was.

  • “I will not” and
  • “It would be unethical to do so.”

There were variations on those answers, but all had the same meaning:

Bianchi will not investigate Sheriff because it would be an ethical lapse that would put his law license in jeopardy.

Five specific situations beyond the use of public money to affix a star that seemingly started out as a campaign symbol were presented by Horwitz to Bianchi for a reply as to whether he would investigate them, if allegations were brought to his office:

  1. Blake Horwitz

The illegal transportation of Hispanics from Mexico to McHenry County

  2. Solicitation of murder of Judge [Conrad] Floeter
  3. Solicitation of murder of David Bachmann
  4. Conspiracy with Jose Rivera in the generation of fraudulent loan documents
  5. Causing dismissal of criminal allegations brought against drivers who were driving vehicles in McHenry County

At one point during the hearing, Deputy Sheriff Zane Seipler’s attorney Blake Horwitz said,

“Then the Sheriff gets a free ride by virtue of his position.”

Judge Meyer seemed to make it clear that the 7-pointed star issue was what was under consideration and not the other issues that Horwitz advanced.

As Horwitz said, “I think I’m done,” Bianchi broke out in a broad smile.

When Special Assistant State’s Attorney Bill Caldwell got his turn, he seemed to be trying to show the Judge that Bianchi made a conscious choice not to initiate any criminal probe of Nygren.

It is obvious that State’s Attorneys have great discretionary power. Perhaps, Caldwell was trying to emphasize that fact.

Consider this question and answer:

Caldwell: “You are able to pass your preferences as it concerns Mr. Seipler’s petition?

Bianchi: “I never looked at the merits. The question came and I couldn’t do it.”

After the attorneys finished their cases in the 27-month trial, Judge Meyer said, “I’m going to do some of my own research.”

He seemed to think he might be able to do in a short period of time and render a decision later in the afternoon, but after 15-20 minutes he returned to his courtroom and announced he had no decision.

Judge Meyer set the next court date for April 25th, the same day as he will handle Horwitz’ request for sanctions against Nygren’s personal attorney Mark Gummerson.

Neither principal were in attendance. Nygren sent his new Affirmative Action Officer Don Leist, who moved over from the State’s Attorney’s Office. Seipler has friends but, apparently, was on the job he regained after a long, drawn-out challenge by Nygren to an arbitrator’s decision re-instating him as a Deputy Sheriff.

Below is some of the evidence relating to the morphing of the 7-pointed star from a campaign symbol to a logo for the Sheriff’s Department:

Here is the evidence that Judge Thomas Meyer did not consider necessary to examine because the investigation thereof should be done by a prosecutor. Click to enlarge.

More from Dave Bachmann about his Conversation with Scott Milliman

March 26, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Dave Bachmann, Dirty Keith vs Dirty Harry, Keith Nygren, Patrick Fitzgerald, Scott Millman

If you are interested in Dave Bachmann’s take on what another Deputy that McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren fired said in the deposition that he gave in Zane Seipler’s Federal wrongful termination suit, another installment has been posted on Dirty Keith vs. Dirty Harry.

Bachmann continues telling what Deputy Scott Milliman told him the night of Nygren’s re-election in 2010.

Included are two visits to U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald and his rejection by the FBI in Rockford, where Fitzgerald sent him after their visit.

This is the top of today's story on Dirty Keith vs. Dirty Harry.

Dave Bachmann Continues His Story: Keith Nygren Meets with Scott Milliman, Milliman Meets with FBI

March 24, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Dave Bachmann, Dirty Keith vs Dirty Harry, FBI, Gus Philpott, Keith Nygren, Scott Milliman, Zane Seipler

If you are not following the story about Keith Nygren from David Bachmann’s (the 2008 Democratic Party’s 2008 candidate for McHenry County Coroner) point of view, you might find it of interest.

With the decision on naming a Special Prosecutor for Sheriff Nygren due Monday, the allegations being laid out by Bachmann, which seem mainly based on a 2010 election night conversation with Deputy Scott Milliman, are far more serious than what Associate Judge Thomas Meyer is considering.

Bachmann repeats what he was told of the meeting of Nygren and Milliman at Vaughan’s Restaurant at the Woodstock corner of Route 47 and old Route 14.

He then tells of the meeting afterward with FBI agents at the K-Mart parking lot and reprises the probably concurrent encounter of Nygren with then-Green Party Sheriff’s candidate Gus Philpott in the Jewel parking lot.

On his way home, Nygren GOP primary opponent Zane Seipler sees Milliman’s car in the parking lot and pulls in to talk to him.

You really need to read the original, but let me excerpt this paragraph:

“According to Milliman, a very loud argument then ensued between himself and the agents! This was when Milliman claims things between he and the FBI began going south very quickly. Seemingly, a ‘trust’ fell apart right there in an FBI vehicle.”

Have to include this subsequent paragraph, too. It brought a “Wow!” to my brain when I read it:

“Upon reflection on former deputy Milliman’s statement that when Nygren arrived at the Vaughn’s Restaurant appearing very disheveled, sweaty and extremely nervous, it is my belief that it is highly possible that an FBI agent tipped off Nygren.”

More to come on Monday, Bachmann writes.

Dirty Keith vs. Dirty Harry Returns to the Internet

March 23, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Dave Bachmann, Dirty Keith vs Dirty Harry, FBI, Greg Pyle, Keith Nygren, McHenry County Sheriff, McHenry County Sheriff's Department, Scott Milliman, Zane Seipler

David Bachmann’s blog, which he calls “Dirty Harry vs. Dirty Keith,” is back on your computer screen, if you click here.

Dave Bachmann puts this sign for Zacatecas, Mexico on his blog.

Bachmann seems intent upon telling the story about what now-fired Deputy Scott Milliman said in his sworn deposition in recently reinstated Deputy Sheriff Zane Seipler’s wrongful termination case against McHenry County Sheriff Keith Nygren.

“Bag man” appears on the screen.  And, search and you find a sizable amount mentioned.

He says the Northwest Herald, which somehow got a copy of the supposedly secret deposition of Scott Milliman in the Federal case, “cherry picked” what the paper put in its article.  Bachmann uses the word “half-truth.”

His recent pieces have been revealing more of the contents of the bowl of fruit.

He cites a Rockford-based Federal Judge’s participation in Woodstock’s Mexican Sister City program.

David Bachmann's Mexican Identification Card.

Bachmann reveals he has working for the Department of Justice in Mexico “during the very time McHenry County had its officers and elected officials in Mexico.”

Bank documents are mentioned, but not revealed, although the name of one local bank and another that whose assets were seized by the FDIC can be found in what Bachmann wrote.  A third Elgin bank remains unnamed.

Something about Genoa seems to be forthcoming.

He shows photos of an FBI wire supposed worn by Milliman in an investigation into Nygren.

Now-suspended computer expert Deputy Greg Pyle’s name comes up.

Bachmann does all of this from a “first person” perspective.

The series of articles are headed,

Re-Opening Cases!

Somehow, I’ll be a lot of people are copying and saving the most recent posts on “Dirty Keith vs. Dirty Harry.”

That’s because one can never be sure when Bachmann will take his blog down.

And Bachmann has written,

“When we post the entire story and name names, you will not only be stunned by what Deputy Milliman has claimed, you will also have some information nobody has ever heard before. “

The Deputy Sheriff Greg Pyle Story Unfolds – 10 Counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault

January 08, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Dave Bachmann, Dirty Keith vs Dirty Harry, First Electric Newspaper, Greg Pyle, Gus Philpott, Illinois State Police, McHenry County State's Attorney, Pete Gonigam, Woodstock Advocate

Greg Pyle

My guess is that Chicago media will be reporting on the arrest of McHenry County Sheriff’s Department Sgt. Greg Pyle on, maybe even before, Monday.

Ten counts of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, according to Illinois State Police Spokesperson Monique Bond.

Crystal Lake Deputy Police Chief Gene Lowery told me that his Department was not involved.

I learned from State Police Public Information Officer Bond that the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office requested that state agency’s assistance.

McHenry County State’s Attorney Lou Bianchi’s investigators and the State Police’s District 2 Investigative Division personnel led the way.

The allegations surfaced on Friday.

“It was very fluid here,” she said Sunday.

Bianchi could not be reached for comment.

As of early Sunday afternoon, the Northwest Herald was running with an unposted press release from Keith Nygren’s department. The NWH reports the press release says the cause for police involvement “domestic issue involving the officer and his family.”

That is at wide variance with what Woodstock Advocate‘s Gus Philpott has written.  See

First Electric Newspaper weighed in with this article:

The new masthead of "Dirty Harry vs. Dirty Keith."

Also weighing in is Dave Bachmann, who has put his “Dirty Keith vs. Dirty Harry” blog back up…at least the part about Greg Pyle.  His masthead now says, “Again, “Dirty Keith Blog” Was On Target!

There are too many more articles which you might find of interest.

Also found on the internet is the following paragraph:

“In a recent interview with Detective Gregory Pyle of the McHenry County Sheriff’s department, I learned that approximately 1 in 5 children with full internet access were approached by a predator on the internet last year. Detective Pyle is a member of the Illinois Chapter of the ICAC, or Internet Crimes against Children Task Force. The task force is a subset of The Center for Missing and Exploited Children and the Department of Justice. Education is the key according to Detective Pyle. Unfortunately they do not have the budget to educate everyone. This, I believe, is our Calling.”
