Message of the Day – A Tee Shirt

April 14, 2013 By: Cal Skinner Category: Jesus, Message of the Day, T-Shirt, Tee Shirt

This T-Shirt was found at the Texas Road House in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

"Jesus Loves You," the tee shire says above a drawing of Him. Below it says, "Everyone else thinks you're a scum bag."

“Jesus Loves You,” the tee shire says above a drawing of Him. Below it says, “The rest of us think you’re a scum bag.”

Two weeks after Easter, one might observe that the wearer hasn’t quite grasped the message of Christianity.

Oklahoma City-based Hobby Lobby’s annual Easter ad in newspapers promotes a 10-hour mini-series entitled, “The Bible,” as you can see below:

The text next to the representation of Jesus says, "

Message of the Day – Rejoice

March 31, 2013 By: Cal Skinner Category: Easter, Jesus, Message of the Day, Rejoice

It’s Easter, the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, the miracle upon which Christianity is based.

"Rejoyce," says the banner in front of our home above the yellow crocuses that popped through the leaves where the fall mums bloom.

This is a Valentine from God taken from John 3:16.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only son

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  John 3:16.  Found in the First United Methodist Church of Crystal Lake in 2009.

Message of the Day – A Tee Shirt

Still another Christian T-Shirt found at Disney World:

With a superhero dressed to look more than a little bit like Superman this tee shirt says, “Jesus is my hero.”

Here’s what’s on the front of the tee shirt:

I’m guess that the church that produced this tee shirt is “Holy Spirit Christ the King.”

Message of the Day – A License Plate

August 12, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Chick-Fil-A, IOU, Jesus, Jesus Christ, License Plate, Message of the Day, Scott Barrettsmith, Spring Grove Bible Fellowship

This was found at the Grand Opening of the Crystal Lake Chick-fil-A.

“JC IOU 1″ says this license plate which, odds are, is owned by a Christian.

There were other manifestations of Christians on opening day.

I saw a First United Methodist Church of Crystal Lake CROP Walk tee shirt.

A contingent from the Spring Grove Bible Fellowship led by Pastor Scott Barrettsmith and his wife Julie and several members ate at Chick-fil-A at mid-afternoon.   To the pastor’s left is Nancy Cole, a McHenry County Pro-Life leader.

Chick-fil-A is closed Sundays, as are Hobby Lobby and car dealers.

Message of the Day – A Billboard

August 05, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Billboard, Christ, Eternal Life Assured, Jesus, Jesus Christ, John 3:16, Message of the Day

Look what we found on the way South this summer:

This sign was the Interstate in Georgia this summer.  It has a representation of the Crucifixion, plus the words of John 3:16.

Sponsored by Eternal Life Assured, the billboard is one of those plastic wrappings, instead of paper.

I wonder if the group got a special rate because the outdoor advertising firm had not been able to rent it out.

I also wonder why there are not billboards like this in the Chicago area.

No rich Christians?

Message of the Day – A Shirt

May 13, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Hebron, Jesus, Message of the Day, Mother's Day, T-Shirt, Tee Shirt

Maybe it’s a long sleeved tee shirt.

It’s Mother’s Day and you know your mother loves you.

Jesus loves you more, though.

"Jusus Loves You' is the message on this shirt, although the word "Love" is replaced with a heart.

When the young woman wearing this message walk into Crandall’s Restaurant in Hebron, I immediately knew I had to ask to take a photo.

As you can see, she gave permission.

Message of the Day – A License Plate and a Bumper Sticker

May 06, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Bumper Sticker, Christian, Christianity, Jesus, License Place, Message of the Day

When I took this photo, I thought I had a two-fer.

This yellow Neon had three messages about Jesus on its rear end.

But, upon examination, I see there are three messages on the back of this yellow Neon.

The bumper sticker caught my attention first.

It says, “Jesus – Don’t Leave Earth Without Him.”

The license plate reads, “JC SOON1.”

And in the middle of the trunk is the outline of a fish, a symbol of Christianity.
