Message of the Day – A Valentine

February 14, 2013 By: Cal Skinner Category: First United Methodist Churchof Crystal Lake, God, Jesus, John 3:16, Message of the Day, Valentine

This is a Valentine from God taken from John 3:16.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only son

“For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  John 3:16.  Found in the First United Methodist Church of Crystal Lake in 2009.

Message of the Day – A Billboard

August 05, 2012 By: Cal Skinner Category: Billboard, Christ, Eternal Life Assured, Jesus, Jesus Christ, John 3:16, Message of the Day

Look what we found on the way South this summer:

This sign was the Interstate in Georgia this summer.  It has a representation of the Crucifixion, plus the words of John 3:16.

Sponsored by Eternal Life Assured, the billboard is one of those plastic wrappings, instead of paper.

I wonder if the group got a special rate because the outdoor advertising firm had not been able to rent it out.

I also wonder why there are not billboards like this in the Chicago area.

No rich Christians?

Message of the Day – A Tee Shirt

April 05, 2009 By: Cal Skinner Category: Blue Heron, Disney World, Grass, Honey I Shrunk the Kids, Jesus, John 3:16, Super Hero

Today’s tee shirt was found at Disney World.

It has an arch saying,

JESUS IS MY HERO

over a crucifixion scene.

A Superman and Supergirl look alike without the “S’s” on their uniforms stand below, the caped man on left side of the cross and the girl on the right.

Underneath is John 3:15—

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.

I found it while waiting for my son in “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.”

Message of the Day – A Valentine

February 15, 2009 By: Cal Skinner Category: First United Methodist Church of Crystal Lake, John 3:16, Sunday School, Valentine

This one was found on a bulletin board in the children’s corridor of the First United Methodist Church of Crystal Lake.

It’s in the shape of a heart.

Centered in the heart are a series of nine little hearts that spell

Valentine

The “V” is from the word “love”
in “For God so loved the world.”

The “a” is from the word “gave”
in “that he gave.”

The “l” is from the word “only”
in “his only begotten son.”

The letter “a” is from the word “whoever”
in “that whoever.”

The “n” is from the word “in”
in “believes in Him.”

The “t” comes from the word “not”
in “should not.”

The “i” is from the word “perish”
in “perish from the earth.”

The “n” comes from the word “everlasting.”
Just one word in that line.

The “e” is from the word “life,”
also a one word line.
