“Throughout our nation’s history, many servicemen have given their lives in defense of our freedom. It is important that we honor and remember them.”

Congressman Walsh encourages all 8th District residents to remember the significance of Memorial Day by participating in local parades and ceremonies.

“Throughout our nation’s history, many servicemen have given their lives in defense of our freedoms. It is important that we honor and remember them,” said Congressman Walsh.

“Memorial Day is the only day designated to publicly honor their sacrifices. I encourage my constituents to join me at one of the observances listed below or participate in the many Memorial Day activities taking place in communities throughout the 8th Congressional District.”

Constituents are invited to join Congressman Walsh at the events listed below. Congressman Walsh asks that political t-shirts and signs be left at home and participants instead wear red, white and blue and bring an American flag to carry (POW/MIA flags would also be appropriate).

Message of the Day – A Car Sticker and a Card

July 26, 2009 By: Cal Skinner Category: Chain of Lakes Bible Church, Don Anderson, Great Commission, John 11:26, Lake Villa, Never Die, Olivia Anderson

On the back of a car at Crystal Lake’s Aldi’s (which sells the cheapest milk in town) was the following car sticker:

It contains a cross in a fish with information about how to reach the Chain of Lakes Bible Church.

Address: 43 W. Grass Lake Road, Lake Villa, IL60046

Directions: Located ¼ mile east of Hwy 83

Phone number: 847-838-0103

Web site: www.CLCBC.com

As I was taking the photo, vehicle owner Don Anderson walked up.

I told him one Sunday his sticker would be the “Message of the Day” on McHenry County Blog.

That prompted him to hand me his card. On one side is a photo of a truck and and a Triumph travel trailer.

The names “Don and Olivia Anderson” are on the same side on the top. On the bottom appears, “Jesus Is Lord” and a fish.

On the back it reads,

Jesus said,

Whoever Lives and Believes
in Me Shall Never Die
John 11:26

How many people do you know who take the Great Commission as seriously as Mr. Anderson?
