Message of the Day – Full Moon

October 2008 Full Moon

I don’t know what the full moon will look like tonight or even if we will be able to see it as I post this photo of October’s full moon in 2008.

My son and I were on a Cub Scout camp out at the McHenry County Conservation District’s Hollows conservation area.

You see what I shot after the camp fire.

Message of the Day – The Moon

First you saw it.

Then you almost didn’t.

“Dad, it’s a shame you can’t see the red,” my son said as the moon was disappearing, referring to my red-green color blindness.

In the last shot, I added light.

Maybe you can see the red.

I could see the surface of the moon in my camera lens, but with no light adjustment, what you see in the second picture is what I saw on my screen.

And, then it returns.
