Janice Prunier-King Retiring from Options and Advocacy

That’s what she announced to members of the Crystal Lake Kiwanis Club on June 6th.

The agency she started 13 years ago has named Associate Director Cindy Sullivan as Interim Executive Director to lead its efforts on behalf of children and adults with disabilities.

Her retirement party will be on June 21st at 365 Millennium Drive, Suite A, in Crystal Lake.

Options and Advocacy began to provide its advocacy services in July, 1994.

The agency has grown to a budget of over $1 million and 26 employees. Most funding comes from the Illinois Department of Human Services and the McHenry County Mental Health Board, but I remember Prunier-King diligent fund raising efforts, something I somehow doubt she she will miss.

The number of clients increased from about 150 in 1994 to over 1,500 children and adults now.

Prunier-King is leaving to pursue a new career.
