Is Pack Back?

This could be fun.

The Northwest Herald has floated former McHenry County State’s Attorney Gary Pack’s name as a candidate to challenge incumbent Lou Bianchi.

The story by news editor Kevin Lyons and Brandon Coutre says Pack was at the Republican golf outing, which

Pack would have the advantage of name identification, but name identification was not his problem when he wanted to become a judge.

James McAuliff, Pack’s former assistant, now an assistant state’s attorney in Cook County, was supposed to be set to announce in March until Appellate Court Judge Susan Hutchinson’s name was floated. Hutchinson has since withdraw her name from consideration.

With the prospective opposition, apparently fueled by trail attorneys’ dissatisfaction with Bianchi’s treatment of them, neither Sheriff Keith Nystrom nor McHenry County Republican Central Committee Chairman Bill LeFew stood with Bianchi when he announced his re-election at the end of March.

One can think of all sorts of slogans…for and against:

Back Pack
Pack’s Back
Sack Pack
just for starters.
