Liz Wakeman Decides Getting Paid for Municipal Work Better than Being Lake in the Hills Trustee

Lake in the Hills trustees don’t get paid a lot of money.

Certainly not as much as a municipal attorney.

Now the Daily Herald reports Lake in the Hills village trustee is going to work for the law firm that represents the village.

The article does not say she will become the LITH village attorney or do any of its work, but it does say she will concentrate on municipal litigation and family law.

Can’t hurt to have a former village trustee if one is seeking work from other McHenry County village trustees, I would imagine.

To Democrat Wakeman’s credit, she did not vote to endorse the District 300 tax rate hike and bond referendums. She apparently agreed with Algonquin’s attorney’s advice that doing so would violate state ethics law. Another lawyer on the board, Village President Ed Plaza voted to endorse. His wife works for District 300.
