The following email appeared in my in box yesterday morning:

Please check your facts. I am not a democrat. Please correct this misstatement immediately.

My career change from one outstanding firm to another had nothing to do with politics and everything to do with my personal professional interests.

My decision as to the District 300 referendum was not done based upon agreement with or reliance on any another attorney, but based upon my independent analysis as an attorney and resident.

I am pleased to set the record straight.

And I certainly did not intend to imply that Wakeman’s good judgment on not wanting the Lake in the Hills village board to weigh in on the District 300 tax hike referendums did not come from her own analysis of the law.

I can tell you that I am not the only one who thought Wakeman was a Democrat. My impression probably came from her support of my Democratic Party opponent in 1998.
