Huntley School District 158 Denies Freedom of Information Request for Correspondence with State’s Attorneys

When I asked for copies of any correspondence with the McHenry or Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office within the last six months, I didn’t know what I would get.

The Daily Herald’s Jameel Naqvi reported CPA board member Tony Quagliano said,

“The district’s complaint alleges that one or more district officials authorized benefits they did not have the authority to grant.”

But, no specifics are forthcoming under the Freedom of Information Act.

In his denial, Superintendent John Burkey wrote,

“Any remaining correspondence with the McHenry or Kane County State’s Attorney Offices, I am denying at this time, as per ILCS140/7(ii). Interfere with pending administrative enforcement conducted by any public body.”
