Message of the Day – An Elephant

My wife and I were watching a newly released to DVD fantasy called “Stardust” this past Saturday night and what should appear on the screen of the fantasy land marketplace scene of the movie but a small cage with a two-headed elephant.

It was too good to pass up.

So, when the movie was over, we went back to the beginning and I took this picture.

Does it represent the tug of war in the national Republican Party between those who support John McCain and those who consider him an apostate?

Does it represent the McHenry County Republicans, fractured by the recent primary?

Does it represent a two-faced avowed Republican leader?

We hypothesize.

You fantasize.

  1. Our County Republicans hold on to their conservatism idealism but what does that mean these days?… Can someone please explain? We’ve seen no fiscal responsibilities from “Republican” elected officials, no tax reforms to help the middle class (…and that small-keep-the-peasants-happy “stimulus” package – that I could cash on bus is laughable). The “stimulus package” is a foolish fix for a 13 trillion deficit. Can someone say “overspending”? We have more “Big Brother Government” than we can shake a wire-tap at and local government provides even more disheartening circumstances. 2-headed elephants talking out of both sides of their mouth. Unfortunatley, you know most of the “crooks” because they are your longtime neighbors. Honestly, have you ever seen a “County’s Budget” decrease? Each City/Village spend every dime allocated to them regardless of whether or not they need the money. City/Villages do not want to lose the money earmarked, they are not interested in what middle class taxpayers get hit “as a tax bill” the following year; thus their mantra is order two of everything and charge it to the County’s budget.

Our founding fathers would have rolled over in their graves after grasping the knowledge of what it means to be a career/politician – Republican in McHenry County.

Let the games begin! They are eating their own.

  2. John McCain being elected would just be a continuing on Bush Administration doctrine. Americans are sick of less civil liberties, war, and politicians who are just ineffective. Restore America to what it used to be: limited government!

  3. Ahhh the secret phrase “Limited Government”. Could that be accompanied by term LIMITS and a sensible ethical political reform policy? One that reads “JUST say NO to LOBBYIST/SPECIAL INTERESTS or ex-mob construction CEOs.

I know I’ve heard over and over that it takes more than 2 years to establish government momentum but some local and national politicians create empires. I could go for 2-2 year terms (a total of 4 years) but that’s it – get out!

RESTORE AMERICA to “WE THE PEOPLE” not Sheeple.
