Wheeling Township’s Ruth O’Connell Wins Henry Hyde Excellence in Leadership Award

The township with the most Republican votes in Cook County is Wheeling Township.

Committeeman Ruth O’Connell got tired of being the woman behind the scenes, ran for the post and won.

Now the Illinois Republican State Central Committee has awarded her the first Henry Hyde Excellence in Leadership Award.

It was described as being a organizing award.

If McHenry County would follow Wheeling Township’s example, Republicans would have no trouble winning.

Wheeling Township has an office on Route 12 in Arlington Heights. When the office is open, they have a voter registrar on duty and put a small sign out front saying,

“Register to the Vote.”

Walking in that office is the way one McHenry County Republican precinct committeeman got activated.
