Every once in a while I’ll hear of some candidate putting up a yard sign where he or she has not received permission.

Word reached me today of a massive expansion of that tactic yesterday.

Let me just reprint the email I got:

“I have a friend that lives on Dean Street in Woodstock. 

“They got up on Sat morning to find a (State Rep. Jack) Franks sign in their yard and a note in the door asking them to please display his sign.  When they went out to pull in out, they saw that the entire street had been done like this. 

“The people were not pleased.”

Since getting this email, I have learned that Woodstock is not the only place this “you get my sign unless you say you don’t want it” approach.

It’s being tried in other towns, too.

The irony is that Franks has no opponent.
