I was a bit shocked when I saw the cost for our new “Retired House” license plates.
$182 was requested.
“Wow!” I thought. “That’s a lot.”
Come to find out, it was for two years.
Making things more efficient at Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White’s Office, I guess. Instead of sending out two bills, one would do for a two-year period.
The new element is a big right half of the state seal (the real one, not this one).
And, of course, there’s “CAL” for the letters.
Also new is some holographic image that I could not get a picture of, but that one can see by tilting the license plate.
