225 Days Since Aaron Shepley and His City Council Raised the City Sales Tax 75%

Ever wonder how I figure out the number of days since Crystal Lake Mayor Aaron Shepley and his city council hiked the income tax 75%.

The Chicago Tribune’s editorial page reminds me.

Often, it runs the number of days since Cook County Board President Todd Stroger and his Democratic Party allies raised the sales tax.

Today, it’s 225 days.

Both the Crystal Lake city and the Cook County sales taxes were hiked on July 1st, 2008.

So, it’s easy.

It is worth noting that there no fireworks occurred, perhaps because the Northwest Herald did not run a story.

Perhaps there will be on April 7th, if anyone makes an issue of the 75% city sales tax hike.

The fireworks you see here were ignited over Crystal Lake in 2007.
