Showing a different side of himself last Sunday morning at the 11 o’clock service at the First United Methodist Church of Crystal Lake, Brian Morrow took part in a skit with a teen.
The pretend son asked his “father” for $25.
The father demurred.
He offered to clean his room, take out the garbage and wash the car every week…for the rest of his life.
The son leaves the stage.
The father finishes his Bible study and starts praying.
It doesn’t take long until the father is praying for help in getting a promotion that will being a higher salary.
And what inducement does the father offer God?
More money for church.
Maybe even start tithing.
As the skit ended, the point was clear:
