How appropriate that April Fool’s Day should coincide with the City of Crystal Lake’s imposition of a 75% sales tax hike on its shoppers.

If only it were a April Fool’s Day joke.

The trick, of course, was played against we taxpaying fools.

And the extraction started right before Independence Day.

How ironic.
