The Burton Township man who ran for McHenry County Board in District 4 two years ago, Jeff Thirtyacre, is running again.
The Democrat will provide a challenge to Republicans Pete Merkel and Sandy Salgado. Their term is expiring.
Thirtyacre also made an unsuccessful run for Burton Township Road Commissioner this past spring.
Thirtyacre shared his thoughts about issues of interest to A-LAW (Alliance for Land, Agriculture and Water ) and the McHenry County Defenders two years ago. You can read them here and here and here.
Two years ago, the following Democrats ran for county board:
- James McTague (District 1),
- Kathleen Bergan Schmidt (District 3),
- Jeff Thirtyacre (District 4),
- Paula Yensen (District 5) and
- Darryl Frank and Robert Ludwig (District 6.)
This time around, the only two I have heard of are incumbent Jim Kennedy and Thirtyacre.
Thirtyacre lost to Republicans Sue Draffkorn and John Hammerand two years ago.
Monday is the first day of filing, so more might make their ambitions public.
