8th District Watch – Joe Walsh Touts Endorsement of Facebook Group

I admit to having signed up for a Facebook account, but never having activated it.

Having said that, I don’t know if an endorsement from a Facebook page called “Illinois Conservatives” means anything or not in the 8th congressional district. You can read a bit about it here on Illinois Review and here on Red Country. Nevertheless, I pass on prospective Melissa Bean opponent Joe Walsh’s press release:

Joe Walsh Receives Endorsement
from Exciting New Illinois Conservative Group

Lake Zurich, IL, January 5 – Joe Walsh, Candidate for Congress in the 8th Congressional district received the endorsement of the Illinois Conservatives Facebook group. The group lists 1,247 members across Illinois. A nine member board voted 8-1 to support Walsh according to IC President Zach Oltmann. Visit their Facebook page for more information.

“Thank you to Illinois Conservatives for their support and confidence in my campaign. We need to win the Primary of February 2nd first so that we can take on Melissa Bean in the General Election. With the support of these organizations and their individual memberships we will be successful,” said Walsh.

“Illinois Conservatives is a rapidly growing presence on Facebook. Revolutions around the world are being driven by internet activity and the exchange of information through mediums such as Facebook. The New York Times today has an Op/Ed by columnist David Brooks that claims the energy and momentum for change has swung back to the right thanks to these types of organizations,” said Walsh.
