Mike Tryon held his annual Luau at D’Andrea’s Banquet Hall in Crystal Lake last night.
Having not attended one before, I didn’t know that Tryon plays a mean guitar.
If it had not been a beach party format, I would have thought he was doing an Elvis Presley imitation.
All sorts of people were there and not just the “usual suspects.”
Unfortunately, a number of left the 5-7 event before GOP gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady arrival from a Streamwood event. (Anybody have a helicopter handy for the next time so he doesn’t have to brave suburban traffic?)
From the number of people who wanted their photos taken with Brady, I’d say he won’t have a lot of trouble getting volunteers.
It helps, of course, that all the polls taken after State Senator Kirk Dillard announced he would attempt a recount of the close primary results have show Brady with a double digit lead over appointed Governor Pat Quinn.
“I believe we have the right message,” elaborating faster than I could write, but including fiscal responsibility and fighting corruption.
The Bloomington state senator noted that internal polls show people know more about the race and its issues earlier than in past election years.
He considered that a positive factor in the campaign.
Entirely optimistic, Brady said there was “a possibility of a net gain of four congressional seats.”
Brady always has a ready smile, reminding me of Ronald Reagan.
Referring to the fund raising nature of the event being held by Rep. Tryon, he said he hoped “people were here not just to make a financial contribution to Mike, but to me…No.”
Then, he said, “Yes, he was serious,” that he needed contributions as well.
I picked up that there is a $500 fund raising event in Barrington Hills next week. (Email me if you want details and I’ll track them down.)
Was Brady able to kill any puppies at the fund raiser?
