Within sight of Route 14, The First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake started its rummage sale this morning.

It runs through tomorrow, with tomorrow being the traditional “bargain day.”

There’s a full room of clothing and a large back room of what I would call “other stuff.”

Here's what I call the "other stuff" room. If it's not clothing or jewelry, which is next door, this is where it can be found.

I found a 1977 Clive Cussler adventure underwater paperback, “Vixon 03,” I have not read and which I am sure is out of print.

About five blocks away at the intersection of Dole and Crystal Lake Avenues, the First Methodist Church of Crystal Lake’s rummage sale starts Thursday and continues through Saturday about noon, which I guess is its “bargain day.”

Wesley Hall is where the clothing is.

Wesley Hall is packed with good stuff for the 9 AM Thursday opening.

There seemed to be a large assortment when I took this picture Tuesday afternoon and another day’s drop-offs have been added since then.

As with the Congregational Church sale, there is another room of goodies. Although not as large physically, the selection seems comparable.

The Methodists also have a good selection of toys upstairs in the balcony overlooking its sanctuary. The nearby book room has fewer donations this year than in previous years.

A boutique of really good stuff is in another room on the lower level.
