Crystal Lake Man Arrested for Stabbing Self, But Reporting Home Invasion

The following press release has been received from the Crystal Lake Police Department:

On Thursday, July 22, 2010 at approximately 1:44 a.m., the Crystal Lake Police were dispatched to 768 Point Drive, Crystal Lake, in response to a call of a reported home invasion.

Upon arriving, Officers met with Lee A. Ivy of 507 Palace Street, Aurora, Illinois, who reported that an unknown male subject had entered into the residence and had allegedly stabbed Ivy in the leg with a knife.

Ivy was reportedly visiting a friend at the time.

He was subsequently transported to Northern Illinois Medical Center and treated for a stab wound to his left thigh.

Through further investigation, it was determined that the reported incident did not occur.

Lee Ivy was later arrested on 7/27/10, and charged with Disorderly Conduct (Filing a False Police Report, Class 4 felony).

Ivy posted $1,000 (10%) bond before being released. He later admitted to self inflicting the wound on his leg.
