State Treasurer’s Office and Congresswoman Melissa Bean Presenting Financial Literacy Program in McHenry Tonight

Melissa Bean at McHenry's Fiesta Days Parade last month.

8th District Congresswoman has tried to stay under the radar since refusing the hold any town hall meeting on health care reform last summer.

Now McHenry County Blog has learned that the United States Representative is hosting four meetings on financial literacy in cooperation with the State Treasurer’s office.

There was one last night at the Ela Township Library. Bean herself attended.

Another is scheduled for tonight at McHenry County College’s Shah Center on Route 31 near Centegra Hospital Thursday night.

It’s from 7:30-9 PM and, if last night is any indication, Bean will be there.

The Schaumburg Township Library is host on August 10th.

On the 12th, the road show goes to the Round Lake Public Library.

I can find no mention of any of the events on the Congresswoman’s web site under “events.” The last one listed was on July 19th.

The web site does have a place where people can requests a meeting.

  1. She is out of touch with reality. This couldn’t have been done next week so not conflicting with the McHenry Fair. Poor planning.
