Another Mahon Fundraiser Planned — 8 Comments

  1. Does anyone know why Democrat Mike Mahan was allowed to work Lou Bianchi’s Festa Italia fundraiser? If I hadn’t seen it with my own eyes, I wouldn’t have believed it. Regardless of feuds within the party, isn’t Lou a Republican? Still waiting for the photos Cal….this is big.

  2. I heard Sally Wiggins was there also working the crowd-I thought she was not party-attached?

  3. It is big, Earth Father. It is big that both Bianchi & Mahon believe that law enforcement is above party lines. They both wish to work for people rather than just political gain. That is not the opinion of the current Sheriff, and that is the reason why Mahon rather than Nygren was invited. All parties are sick of Nygren using his position for his own benefit. He is hurting this county with his behavior. It is time for him to join his wife in their Florida home permanently.

  4. AZ – Sally is not party attached. She attends all kinds of fund raisers. She wishes to serve non affiliated which is very attractive. She does not OWE anyone.

  5. Sarah, are you saying that Lou is not a Republican anymore. It is contradictory to claim himself to be a Republican while supporting a Democrat. And, if it is true that Bianchi no longer supports the Republican Party, then myself and many other Republicans will no longer support him. And, if Lou and Mahan place law enforecement above party lines, why do they claim to be a Republican and Democrat respectively? Why not run as independents? I guess they just believe in parties when they need votes, then will do whatever they want ignoring those that put them there.

  6. There are Republicans in this county that are good people and some are NOT GOOD PEOPLE. Should not require a GANG MENTALITY.

Don’t we teach our children to be careful about their friends? It is the character that counts.

  7. When did I ever claim that Lou was not a republican? He is indeed a Republican, but he can also see when specific members of his party are not doing what is in the best interest of the people. He is not foolish enough to support someone who is unethical simply because they are republican. He is a man of the people, and he is aware that when it comes to law enforcement, supporting the better choice is the right thing to do. Mahon is being openly supported by many Republicans. This is because they know he is dedicated to the people of McHenry County. I have no respect for anyone who blindly supports a substandard candidate simply based on their political influence.

Unlike the Illinois Highway Department. They removed Mahon’s campaign signs off of private property, simply because Nygren told them to. Of course they apologized up and down, claiming they only did what they were told. This is far from the first time that he has bullied his way into putting up or removing campaign signs off of private property. During the primaries, he removed Mahon’s signs off of private property and replaced them with his own. When the owners took them down, he personally called and yelled at them. Is this the kind of person who cares about the residents of McHenry County? His only concern is himself.

  8. Ditto, Sarah,
A lot of Nygren signs went up without permission. Some businesses kept them up but complained about it behind his back. I hope that those that did not speak up last time around will not put up with it any more. The only way to stop a bully is to stand up to them. Bullies are cowards. Speak up and tell him where to go.
Call the county and complain to them, as well.
When I called they said they got a lot of complaints about Nygren.
Nygren hires the 150 guys to do the dirty work during the night. Get those cameras up.
