Northwest Herald Suspends “No Commenting” Policy in Lou Bianchi’s Criminal Case

Comments have been closed on articles about criminal cases by the Northwest Herald since sometime earlier this year.

On the felony indictment of McHenry County State’s Attorney, however, comments are being allowed.

Just an observation. Draw your own conclusion.

A friend of McHenry County Blog notes that the NW Herald is prohibiting comments on today’s article about County Board member Bob Bless’ problems with the Attorney Registration and Discipline Commission. It is not a criminal case.

Northwest Herald Suspends “No Commenting” Policy in Lou Bianchi’s Criminal Case — 7 Comments

  1. Not a surprise as the Bianchi case involves a public figure and a well publicized case. It is consistent with how they allowed comments in the Blagojevich case.

  2. When the Northwest Herald does not like a particular public figure they let all of the trolls loose on the comments section.

  3. Yep, George, you’re correct, of course you’re right! Special Prosecutor for Amy Dalby – GOOD! Special Prosecutor for Lou Bianchi – BAD! (well, it certainly turned out that way for him) but let’s hear it for the hypocrites like George regardless!

How many more from that office will wind up being charged? Looking at the indictment it seems that a lot of people never learned a damn thing from Watergate. I think most of us taxpayers could overlook some of the expenses and campaign work. What cannot and should not EVER tolerate is the lying, obstruction of justice, destruction or attempted destruction of evidence.

  4. Good for you, just another voter. Are you going to keep that line when another very high profile politician in this County is brought to task in the coming weeks?

  5. Yep! What’s sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander. Other than integrity, I don’t have a dog in this fight! You?

  6. No, I just think there are worried politicians in McHenry County. Probably lots of shredding going on in the government center.

  7. Reading Bianchi’s indictment, it seems that there was. Whyizzit the fools never learned anything from Watergate. Bianchi (or Salgado) wasn’t smart enough to quit digging once they were in the hole. If they hadn’t gone after Dalby out of revenge (against Foley and Regna) it’s likely that none of this would have come to pass. Crazy, isn’t it?
