The pre-sttamped indictment publilshed by the Daily Herald.

The stamped indictment published by McHenry County Blog.

People have been speculating how the Daily Herald got a copy of the Lou Bianchi indictment before it was filed in the McHenry County Circuit Clerk’s Office.

It was faxed to the Daily Herald from the McHenry County Public Defender’s Office.

Public Defender Mark Cook called back today and I asked him about the fax.

“I never saw it. I never had it,” he told me.

He suggested talking to Daily Herald reporter Chuck Keeshan, who used his department’s fax machine.

I did and he told me that Special Prosecutor Henry Tonigan gave extra copies of the indictment to reporters as he was leaving the courtroom after the indictments had been presented.

Mystery solved.

  2. Sorry, no kiss. Still should not have been done. But this is McHenry County.
